Well, in a shocking turn of events, HBO is in talks to license some of its original content to Netflix. i have to believe that these are the lower tier titles. It’s actually not that weird. True Blood is on Hulu. So, if Netflix starts running Boardwalk Empire, Carnivale, or Six Feet under anytime soon, you’ll know why. Well, The CW finally made some choices. They’ve axed Gotham knights, but are keeping All American homecoming and Superman and Lois. Also, heartbreaking news that Treat Williams was killed in a motorcycle accident at the age of 71. Those who check out the roundup semi-frequently might have noticed I’ve been rewatching Everwood. Well, HBo cancelled Perry Mason after two seasons.What a shame. Netflix has attempted its first upfront presentation, and to celebrate, they brought what they assumed were good tidings. Ginny and Georgia got a two season renewal, because certainly the world needed more of that. And, Virgin River got an early Season 6 renewal before Season 5 premieres. joining the ranks of cancelled series are The Winchesters (which is being shopped to other networks and streaming services) as well as Kung Fu. Basically, The CW no longer exists. I read an interesting news story that fans of Netflix shows have noticed that Netflix loves to cancel their product, and are now banding together to try and stop these cancellations. For example, there’s an entire subreddit devoted to Shadow and Bone where over 24K fans keep rewatching the show over and over to keep its numbers up. I wonder if just going to work, and leaving your Netflix running on Shadow and Bone couldn’t at least get you some hours in there.
