My Favorite Martian: 25th Anniversary

My Favorite Martian: 25th Anniversary- Does It Hold Up? Did It Ever? Quick Take: So, I only have passing knowledge of the TV show, and this was my first time watching this. Not every movie stands the test of time, and much like the 90’s adaptation of Leave it To Beaver, I’m pretty sure this has been buried. I’m surprised it had audio description on Disney Plus. The cast is intriguing, ranging from Jeff Daniel’s and Christopher Llloyd to Elizabeth Hurley and Wallace Shawn. Did it stand the test of time? Honestly, if this was the 10th Anniversary, I’d answer … Continue reading My Favorite Martian: 25th Anniversary

Speed: 30th Anniversary

Often when critics and various awards groups gather at the end of the year to honor the years best, it is with a very narrow view of what we thought best represented that year. Many times, blockbuster films, or even films that just didn’t reach a wide enough audience, end up being rediscovered, or really holding on and becoming an essential film standing the test of time. These are all cornerstones of cinema, even if in some cases we like films that didn’t win, or aren’t in the registry yet more. My thoughts on this include the fact that I didn’t … Continue reading Terms Of endearment

Speed

Where I Watched it: Amazon English Audio Description?: Yes Somewhere out there, I’m being judged because people keep clicking on reviews of films I hadn’t seen already, and just now feel like getting around to. This is not that. It’s close, but not really. My history with Speed is less complicated. I wasn’t old enough at the time to see an R rated film on my own, but luckily for me, back in the 90’s, big films like this always made themselves onto TV for their big network premiere a year or two later. However, in the case of Speed, … Continue reading Speed
