10 Things I Hate About you: 25th Anniversary

10 Things I Hate About You: 25th Anniversary- Julia Stiles, Heath ledger, Joseph Gordon-Levitt Quick Take: I got this once during a sale in the Apple Store, because it had audio description, and it was on sale. I’m not remotely objective here. There’s no critical consensus. I was in high school when this came out, and my nostalgia is too strong. This is a desert island movie for me, easily qualifying with a totally view count somewhere between 10-15 times in my life. I own this on DVD, but sadly, despite the medium supporting multiple audio tracks, no one was … Continue reading 10 Things I Hate About you: 25th Anniversary

Killer Heat

Killer Heat (Amazon) Joseph Gordon Levitt Is Looped Into This Murder Mystery Once again, I’d love it if you checked out my review of Killer Heat, and let me know your thoughts in the comments of the video, or on here. Likes and subscribes are awesome too. Killer Heat is kind of a waste of Joseph Gordon Levitt, who already has a pretty solid release this year with the entertaining Beverly Hills cop: Axel F, and has previously nailed the noir detective angle in Brick, and even Looper has a bit of that element. But, here he plays a PI … Continue reading Killer Heat

Angels In The Outfield: 30th Anniversary

Despite what many believed, Disney Plus did not launch with every Disney movie ever made. Fans of movies like Air Bud and Angels in The Outfield found out they had to wait. Well, i waited. So, where’s the audio description? Disney is usually pretty good about making sure their own films, especially Disney theatrically branded content, has audio description. Some pretty random titles have it, and they can’t claim they didn’t know the debut of a 30 year old movie was coming. So, am i supposed to pray for accessibility? Is this some sort of meta lesson? Will Christopher Lloyd … Continue reading Angels In The Outfield: 30th Anniversary

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F

Just like Top Gun came back after a long hiatus with its hero in the title, Beverly Hills Cop is back on the beat for a fourth entry, with most of Axel Foley’s name in the title. It a really odd and uncomfortable choice, and headed into this, I wasn’t sure that Netflix would be able to pull this off. Mark Malloy? A feature directorial debut? On this? This film had all the makings of another hot trash Netflix title that just gets put out to appease algorithms. After all, CBS has a quite high profile pilot for a TV … Continue reading Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F

Flora and Son

Where I Watched it: Apple Plus English Audio Description?: Yes I would like to first state that John Carney clearly is beating us over the head with the power of music. I’d love to see him direct an honest to God musical, in the most truest sense instead of these films about musicians playing music that matters. I really wonder if his love of music could resonate in a musical adaptation of something headed to the big screen. Perhaps Spring Awakening would be up his alley? Flora and Son is my least favorite John Carney film, but for the guy … Continue reading Flora and Son

Pinocchio (2022)

Where I Watched it: Disney Plus Audio Description Provided By: Deluxe Narrated By: Laura Post If we are being really honest about these Disney live action remakes, the ones that work seem to be the ones that take a risk and offer something brand new. Something other than just a beat for beat remake, but instead try and show us something we didn’t get to see in the animated version. They also rely heavily on your nostalgic connection to the original piece, casting, and direction. Despite the fact that many critics would dump all the remakes, there’s an argument to … Continue reading Pinocchio (2022)

The too Much TV Roundup

A day late and a dollar short. Changing up the format a bit. Previously, I just ran down the streaming services and picked a show. Now, I’ll just be doing the top 10 programs that hit me one way or the other in the last 7 days. Remember, I don’t binge watch. So, some of these might be a bit old, and you might already be done, or even behind where I’m at. Thanks to peak tV. 1) The Walking Dead (AMC/AMC Plus) English Audio Description Available?: Frustratingly, no. It’s always bothered me that this show doesn’t feature audio description … Continue reading The too Much TV Roundup
