Some of the best moments of description are what happens to Fiddler’s Green, and the description of that, but also Loki continuing his mischief. The episode was petty centric on Joanna Constantine and The Corinthian, but definitely ended on a dour note for Dream. The Institute- What a … Continue reading The Small Screen Diaries: 08/12/25

The Small Screen Diaries: The Weekly Rankings

I actually finished a lot of shows this week, which should free up a ton of space and shake up the list next week. Joining the list this week are Dexter Resurrection (Paramount Plus), Building The Band (Netflix), Back To The Frontier (HBo MAX), Foundation (Apple Plus), Sullivan’s Crossing (Netflix), and The Art detectives (Acorn). Also, I took a look at A Different World (Netflix) which has audio description! WINNER: Squid Game (Netflix) with audio description- I’m not quite done with the final season, and I’ve basically lost all the new characters I was rooting for, yet something about this … Continue reading The Small Screen Diaries: The Weekly Rankings

Once again I’m running down the sixty shows on my broad watchlist. Joining the list this week, which was fairly slow for new shows, are The Sandman (Netflix), All Of Us Are Dead (Netflix), The Office (Peacock), Such Brave Girls (Hulu), Nautilus (AMC Plus), Dexter (Paramount Plus), and Prison Break (Netflix). I wrapped some shows, and anything that would rank outside the top 60 dies. WINNER: Squid Game (Netflix) with audio description- I knew I was going to lose my favorites. The Too Much TV Roundup- October 16th

John Stark

One show enters and leaves in the same day. I’m so backlogged on content, that it didn’t make a big enough impression to stay in my life. 9) Everything I Know About love (Peacock) English Audio Description?: Yes This show centers around a group of Brits who live together and talk about their love life’s or lack thereof. The only reason I’m passing is just because this ensemble didn’t do it for me. I’ve seen this concept done, with some variety, many times over the years. Most recently, HBo MAX had The Sex lives Of College Girls, which while not … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- October 16th

A lot of shows fighting for the top. only one can have it. It was a though fight this week. 1) The Sandman (Netflix) English Audio Description Available?: Yes The Sandman wraps officially its 1st season (Yes, I’m still putting positive energy out into the world), and with a finale that wrapped everything up in fine form, I can see where we’ve been and the ride I enjoyed, but also see the groundwork laid for next season.Hopefully Netflix steps up and gives this a shot. Episode Grade: A, Season 1 (without the bonus episode): A- 2) The Good Fight (Paramount … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- October 9th

One of these shows had a trigger warning. Find out which one below! It’ll be a fun mystery until you get there. 1) The Sandman (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes We are getting into the meat of the show. Rose has some real power, as shown in this episode. Dream is becoming a problematic protagonist as you don’t always root for him, because his life choices are largely out of touch. So, Rose has taken over, and she’s going to get her brother back. But that seems to be a challenge, as the Corinthian has taken him to a serial … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- October 2nd

I watched a lot of TV yesterday, and now you have to. That’s the deal. Right? 1) Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes This animated offering, which is much better than you would think, has put out its final season on Netflix. There were a lot of shows yesterday, but nothing made me happier than starting Season 5, and beginning the sad journey to saying farewell to the six kids who made a series that was far more interesting than either of the Jurassic World sequels. And I can say this, because I also watched Dominion today, … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- September 4th

The Too Much TV Roundup- August 28th

Today, picking number one meant I could easily have chosen any one of three shows. Each one deserved it for different reasons. Only one gets my top spot. 1) The Sandman (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes while last episode I found the questionable existence of Johanna Constantine perplexing, i did have a good laugh when Lucifer Morningstar was uttered. And to know that once again mazekin is at his side… or wait! Lucifer is a woman? Anyway, as a fan of that show, and being fully aware that Lucifer came after Sandman, I just found it unintentionally hilarious. But what … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- August 28th

The Too Much TV Roundup- August 21st

John Stark

A little early for me, but don’t worry, I watched a ton of TV today, and I’m too busy to post this tomorrow morning. 1) Trying (Apple Plus) English Audio Description?: Yes This. Season. Premiere. Was. Everything! Where Breeders may be a more dramatic cynical look at raising a family, Trying has focused on the happier moments, pushing that our main couple really is trying. What I loved so much about this episode was that all of their family came together when they found out that only one of the new kids was staying. And while our leads were off … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- August 21st

The Too Much TV Roundup- August 15th

John Stark

I can’t believe it’s already the halfway point of August. With some shows finished last week, the rankings should start shaking up a bit. We’ve got a new first timer on top. 1) The Sandman (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes I didn’t think that the pilot did enough to explore the universe, and just exactly who Dream was. It felt, in retrospect, like a preface, and the story starts in Episode 2. There’s a tremendous shift in focus, and Dreams really does take center stage in his own story. The audio description here is working overtime, as almost nothing in … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- August 15th

The start of a new week, and Amazon is being mean and reminding me there was still one more episode of Night Sky, after I finished it last week and it temporarily disappeared from my queue. I now see that Undone is still there, after going away, which perplexes me because I it really do not know where that story would have gone after that ending. That was a true finale ending if there ever was one. What the hell, Amazon? Stop temporarily disappearing shit from my queue. This wasn’t a problem before the redesign. 1) Night Sky (Amazon) English … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- August 8th
