For the Best Limited Series, you’ve got the powerhouse American Horror Story: Freak Show destined for a nomination, with Olive Kitteridge being its primary competition. American Crime could score a nod here, which seems more likely than either Secrets and Lies or Gracepoint. History will throw its weight behind Texas Rising, and Starz is pushing The Missing. The Honorable Woman, Wolf Hall, Sons Of Liberty, and Houdini all have tough odds, with The Slap, The Casual Vacancy, and 24: Live Another Day as longshots.
My money is on AHS, Olive, American Crime, Texas Rising, and Wolf Hall, with Honorable Woman being the most likely to upset that.
For Best TV Movie, Bessie is way out front, followed by another HBO movie, Nightingale. Killing Jesus is likely too. Emmy voters are likely to recognize Derek in this category, and the final spot is wide open. Lifetime’s Whitney, Kidman’s Grace Of Monaco, and British dramas Worricker and Foyle’s War battle it out for the last nomination.
I’d bet on Bessie, Nightingale, Derek, Killing Jesus, and Worricker.
