‘Blindspot’ First Success, ‘Minority Report’ Slashed, ‘Extant’ Cancelled

NBC has given the first full season order to a new series with their breakout smash Blindspot. This renewal became an obvious no-brainer as the thriller is doing really well in the ratings, especially for a struggling network with few bright spots. I expect ABC to do a similar full-season for Quantico next week. FOX should be close behind with a full-season pickup of Rosewood. CBS’s first pickup (and possibly only pickup) will be Limitless.

FOX has cut the original episode order of the struggling Minority Report to 10 episodes, which matches the order of the “fall season” part of Minority Report. Now, instead of going away for the holidays and coming back in the spring, Minority Report will just end with its fall finale.

And, CBS has decided to cancel Extant after two seasons. The Halle Berry led drama never really was the ratings grab the CBS brass hoped for with Berry, but she still has a production deal with the net, so you might see something from her in the future.
