The Too Much TV Roundup- November 6th

Definitely had to get some real life stuff done today, but I still managed five shows for you.

5) Saturday Night live (Peacock)

English Audio Description?: No

I had no idea who the musical guest even was. That’s new for me. Like, sometimes I’ve heard the name before, but I am pretty sure I’ve never heard their music. This guy just fell from the sky. Anyway, the funniest things in this episode were Amy Schumer’s monologue and Weekend Update. Not a strong episode. It felt like sketches didn’t know when to end, so they just drew out forever and ever. The opening Joe Biden bit was funny at first, but by the time Kenan came in as… whoever… the joke was dead. The sketch featuring the tailgaters yelling at opposing fans went on forever. The funniest sketch was probably the jury sketch, because Boen Yang came in clutch.

Episode Grade: B

4) Alaska Daily (ABC/Hulu)

English Audio Description?: Yes

Spending far too much time looking for a ferret in Episode 5. Meanwhile, Swank is trying to chase down this potentially dangerous individual, and on the other end, people back at the newspaper are looking for a ferret. Was anyone else surprised that the attorney they cornered seemed to know so much about this random guy? Like, I know Alaska is low in population, but he knew the guy, his reputation, his ex, and even his last known location. That’s a bit of a stretch. He’s like a NPC in a video game that’s just there to data dump you on useless knowledge before your quest.

Episode Grade: B+

3) Big Shot (Disney Plus)

English Audio Description?: Yes

Even i knew as an audience member that this posting his name on a wall in some sports bar on his daughter’s birthday was a terrible idea. The funny thing is, the rest of the day, minus that, was kind of sweet. The fact that even at the end of the episode he was still trying to defend his position, as doing it for Emma, so that she can look up to him, after all of that he still didn’t seem to recognize what he was actually doing. I think he’s a character that has a good heart in there somewhere, it’s just buried deep beneath his ego.

Episode Grade: A-

2) Beavis and butthead (Paramount Plus)

English Audio Description?: Yes

I think I only have one more left of these. I’m already sad. The first episode, centered around the boys being unable to comprehend even the most basic of love letters was hilarious. The fact that Butthead looked at the letter U and thought it was a foot was hilarious. The second half where they keep trying to time travel, because they don’t understand time zones, was equally hilarious. I love this show so much.

Episode Grade: A

1) Cobra Kai (Netflix)

English Audio Description?: Yes

The only thing I love more is the fact that I finally started the new season of Cobra Kai. There are just so many shows, and i knew it wasn’t going to be cancelled, so i was able to wait a bit. But now, I’m in, and I love where the story is headed. Some very notable characters missing from the first episode, but that’s OK. It’s just the first episode. I’m sure they’ll come back around.

Episode Grade: A
