I’m still behind, so I won’t get to them right away, but a couple of returning series hit next week you might find interesting, including Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Outlander, Black Mirror, and The Wonder Years.

I hate “Road To The Finale” episodes, and since Apple decided to break up the finale into “finale preparation” and then presumably the actual performances, watching the sausage get made, watching people talk about the prize, or how important this show is, was not a great singular episode.

Archie doesn’t want to be bothered in this Bowling Team episode. Pretty standard stuff, and not a real standout episode for this series.

Now, this is why I need audio description. I’m deep into the second season, and this episode about why the main kid can’t say the N word made me question this show a lot. I’ve never visually seen this show, but I do have visual references for Jasmine Cephas Jones and Helen hunt. So, I figured out that the kid is biracial. Is he so pale that it looks bad for him to be using that word? Until now, I really hadn’t given much thought to how dark or light this kid was. Perhaps if the show had stuck to the movie a bit more, where the lead was played by Daveed Diggs, it would have made more sense. But, without audio description, this episode caught me off guard. Not that the word is acceptable all the time anyway, but it does seem more accepted when used not by white people. I guess the kid is white. Give me audio description so this makes sense.

Three main plots, and Ross/Rachel basically are not featured. Instead, Phoebe catches chicken pox for the first time, and it’s also date night. Monica finally opens up about her OCD behavior around Richard, who is still adorable as hell. Seriously, why on earth couldn’t these two have ended up together? Anyway, the other part featured Joey creating a character and method acting so he could work with Chandler, driving Chandler insane.

The second episode gives Patricia Arquette a chance to really flourish as a character, and get a bit funnier, even as she sees her mom various places, but this show also has Matt Dillon and Brad Garrett and should continue to find ways of using them. Arquette is a great actress, but I don’t want this to be another Physical where the supporting cast feels like an afterthought.

This docuseries explores the Duggar family, their rise to popularity, and the scandal over Josh. The first episode really just sets things up, explaining how the Duggars got started. It talks briefly about the josh problem, but as someone who never watched the show, I was glad to have an episode like this that set things up.

I feel like we will get all the answers soon, but something is very not right with the King. But as Charlotte finally gets the closeness she requires, she also learns that he has some ailments as he wonders outside naked. She shows so much understanding and sympathy, making that scene so warm. Meanwhile, a character bites the dust, so at least we will see a lot less sex scenes. This show really does have a LOT of sex in it.

While Cary won’t stop promoting Night Nurse, and keeps getting sucked into randomly bizarre scenarios, including a very hilarious (when you realize what it is) MeetCute. But, I gotta say what put this over the top was Brooke having to drive a picture of her brother’s arm pit across the country to Rolling Stone, while being hunted down by GQ. Truly, brilliant nonsense.

I actually like Midge with Gordon, if we had more time to explore that. But, based on the flash forward (that does NOT work out for Joel) I’m guessing nothing happens with Gordon. However, Midge on the boat with the diaper people, and becoming a pirate, was gold. Also, watching Suzy storm that bath house to get her client a gig, was priceless. This is one of the best written shows on TV ever, and I’ll miss it.
