Well, the wrong costume won The Masked Singer. Not the one I was rooting for, although, when the winner was revealed, I can’t say that’s a bad person to have on top. Also, Starz is seemingly trying to just turn into the Power network. After rapidly cancelling Heels earlier this year, and recently announcing the upcoming 3rd season of Hightower will be its last, they just cancelled Shining Veil. Really, I’m at a point with Starz that since they offer no accessibility, if they cancel Minx, I really don’t know why I would continue to subscribe. I’d rather save that money, and just rent individual titles that would have premiered on Starz and just let them die their inevitable death. Once Outlander is gone, all they have is the Power franchise.
1) Lessons In Chemistry (Apple Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes

This is such a strong show. We see her pushing forward in time, trying to balance her show with spending time with her daughter that is clearly smart, but also clearly enjoyed the time she used to spend with her mom, and is frustrated that she can’t finish this family tree project.
Episode Grade: A
2) Percy Jackson and the Olympians (Disney Plus)
English Audio Description?: Technically
Status: Unknown
As a series, the pilot rushes through the story we’ve already seen. He’s already at camp within the first 30 minutes. That’s the movie. They really could ahve used that first episode to develop Percy, his mom, Percy’s friendship with Grover, literally anything, but it’s like living on fast forward. Having a Minotaur wearing briefs is silly. The cast is solid, so the casting director deserves props, but the audio description here leaves a lot on the floor. Percy Jackson is an iconic character who has had fans that have been able to experience him in book, film, and stage form. They very likely are interested to know as much as what this Percy looks like as possible.Good luck with that. I know the AD is already recorded, but Disney should re-record it with a new company, and at bare minimum, a new company for Season 2.
Episode Grade: B
3) Fellow Travelers (Paramount Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Limited
There are just these little moments in Fellow Travelers that let me know how truly special this series is. It keeps getting better and better, and I love how the name was finally explained. The fifth episode is incredible and heartbreaking on so many different levels, and this is an exceptional program that deserves to win all the awards… and I’m not even finished.
Episode Grade: A+
4) A Murder At the End of The World (Hulu)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Limited
These episodes are all long. I need to say something, and I need you to hear it early. Because the whole series rests on this. I do not know how this ends. but with Clive Owen sitting as the prominent figure, and by far the largest name, he *cannot* be the killer. He could be covering up for the killer, or something else, or even a patsy, but right now, it just is far too obvious to walk right into that. There is no style in making him the choice. You can’t cast Owen in this series, where he is a bigger name than anyone else, and not have people draw that conclusion. At least HBO’s series with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant, The Undoing, also had Donald Sutherland, so there was someone else on their level. As much as I enjoy Emma Corrine, or Brit Marling, no one in this series is at Clive Owen’s level, and I don’t want to sit through an entire series to find out he’s the killer. I’m giving the benefit of the doubt for now, because this show is interesting, but I will firebomb the series finale if you go with the status quo.

5) Young Love (mMAX)
English Audio Description?: Yes

Max needs more of this. This episode where the mother suggests to her daughter that they have a shared Insta is hilarious. Because every kid wants to share an Insta with their parent.

6) Everwood (FreeVee)
English Audio Description?: No

Still enjoying my nostalgic rewatches. A mine collapse ends the pregnancy journey of one of Andy’s patients, as well as Ephram meeting a cool guy who seems to ahve a strong music background. And Amy is cutting class. Which seems far less important than the mine collapse.
episode Grade: B+
7) Community (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes

Still in season 1, where Chang is trying to be a part of the group, and he’s not always the evil character. I’m glad this whole thing has audio description.
Episode Grade: A-
8) Fleabag (Amazon)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Ended
Fleabag gets a lot closer to the sexy priest, and things seem like they might go her way, until she goes too far and sends him running. Did you really think a Priest was ready for a hookup that quickly? Come on, you gotta put in more time.
Episode Grade: A-
9) The Crown (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Final Season
An episode padded with a lot of conversations that never existed, because no one was in the room with Dodi and Diana the night they died. Who knows what those two talked about before the crash. It’s a little rude to speculate, especially on really personal issues. I get the need to do it dramatically, but I also kinda hated it. This whole episode just felt like I was waiting for a car accident. And, it made me feel awful in the process.
Episode Grade: C+
10) The Office (Peacock)
English Audio Descritpion?: No
Status: Ended
Again, this show needs to be on peacock’s to-do list. If your show is so popular that you double down by creating super fan episodes, it’s time to add audio description.
Episode Grade: B+
