Among the other things I do, I am a proud member of GALECA: The Society for LGBTQ Film Journalists, so naturally, I should announce the winners of the awards I voted for. for those who follow my small Screen diaries, you’ll note my finger is on the absolute pulse, as it also is for the many critics and entertainment journalists who voted in these awards.With Emmy nominations only days away, will these serve as a bell weather for things to come on that front as well?

GALECA is the 2nd largest Entertainment Journalist organization in the world, boasting over 560 members worldwide, ranging from critics and journalists to industry icons. These members voted, and selected, from a broad range of gender neutral categories. Some of these awards are super fun, and specific just to GALEcA.

Of course, the goal is to highlight LGBTQ content, but that didn’t preclude shows or performers from being nominated or winning who are not in queer shows, or playing characters who are, or are not themselves personally identifying as.
