TV Shows Watched: outlander: Blood of My Blood: S1E7 (Starz) no audio description, My Life With The Walter Boys: S2E4 (Netflix) with audio description, Dexter: S6E3 (Paramount Plus) with audio description, Upload: S4E4 (AmazoN) with audio description, All of Us Are Dead: S1E12 (Netflix) with audio description, Pop culture Jeopardy: OMG (Amazon) with audio description, Only Murders In the Building: S5E2 (Hulu) with audio description
Outlander: Blood of My Blood- All four parents are featured, with a special appearance by rob Roy! And Ellen’s virginity gets called into question. Uh oh. I’d have a better idea of who these people were if this show had audio description.
My Life With the Walter Boys- the town is suing the family to stop their little tourist trap from happening, and Jackie tries to land a band for the dance, before giving up and letting her friend DJ. Jackie also decides to run for President. Cole has feelings about being a Coach and not a player, and finally finds out his twin is dating his Ex, which he’s pretty chill about.
Dexter- Dexter finds a man of the cloth who shouldn’t be a man of the cloth and does what he does. Solid audio description ensues.
Upload- I’m not reviewing this half season. I appreciate Amazon letting the show wrap up, but the season was hampered by the short episode count, HOWEVER, I would much rather more shows be given at least short bursts of closure than none at all. This is a case of not biting the hand that feeds, and hoping for more opportunities to resolve other shows.
All Of Us Are Dead- the season keeps going. Every time, it ends with a cliffhanger, so I think we’re finally done and then we aren’t. I’m so used to shorter seasons now, that a 12 episode streaming season is blowing my mind. Upload had a 4 episode 4th season, which would be three seasons worth here.
Pop Culture Jeopardy- I’ve given Roundabout plenty of shit before, but after listening to them do a game show, and listen to others do game shows this summer (Match Game, Millionaire), and other recent shows like Jeopardy Masters, I think Roundabout actually understands the assignment.
Only Murders In The Building- A flashback episode featuring Lester and how he started as a young man balancing an acting career with being a doorman, before giving up on his dreams and just being a doorman, and how he came to know Nicky. He seemed like a really nice guy, and always gave the residents these lovely interactions. Kind of a lovely ode to doormen, a very underappreciated job.
