TV Shows Watched: Daryl Dixon: S3E2 (AMC Plus) no audio description, From: S3E4 (MGM Plus) with audio description, The Girlfriend: S1E2 (Amazon) with audio description, Red Fish Blue fish: S1E3 (Netflix) with audio description, Have I Got News For You: S3E2 (HBO MAX) no audio description, The Paper: S1E4? Daryl Dixon- Of course the show doesn’t have audio description, but what a weird show this has become. originally, there was a Daryl and Carol spinoff, then Melissa McBride backed out, leaving them to cobble together some weird Daryl in France series. So they spend an entire season committing to it. Then Melissa McBride changes her mind, and carol comes back, and season 2 is basically just them undoing the first season, and then we get to Season 3, which is like a new show, since no characters were retained from France. None. Then they go to England, where they could have stayed, or picked up Stephen merchant as a cast member, but instead they decide to have these two float down to Spain? the country directly below where they just were? Norman reedus has a show called Ride with norman reedus, and this just feels like Float With Daryl Dixon. I think they’re making it up as they go along, probably more than most other shows.
From- Randall is gonna be pissed. I’m really looking forward to Henry and Victor getting to see each other. It’s interesting to see character deaths in an episode where so much happens, but the characters that died were completely expendable. Also, Donna had a great moment upstairs. she’s so strong for everyone, it was time for her to break down finally.
The Girlfriend- Meh. I kinda just want to leave it at that. there are a lot of shows on television right now, and i couldn’t come up with a compelling reason to carve out time for this. Some really solid shows come back this week, like Gen V and High Potential, plus Netflix has Black Rabbit with Jason Bateman, so maybe skip this? It’s neither as clever as it proclaims to be, or interesting as it wants to be.
Red Fish Blue Fish- IDC and Tristan Snyder have crafted a lovely experience for blind and low vision children. I’m not mad that I’ve seen three episodes of a show that makes no effort to entertain anyone at a driving age or older. This is what kids television should sound like in AD.
Have I Got News For you- Just entertaining, and clearly filmed before Charlie Kirk, or they just made a choice to not mention it at all. i was wondering how they’d handle it, but it isn’t here at all.
the Paper- Ned is almost sabotaged in a budget meeting without him, while he’s off blowing the lid on a mattress controversy. It’s a cute show finding its own rhythm apart from The Office. And the AD… just terrific. I have no notes. It compliments the series and the humor.
