And now the Stanley Cup! Yesterday I congratulated Knicks fans on an overdue championship, and now Carolina Hurricanes, who won their first NHL title in 20 years, and this is only their second Stanley Cup. So, lots of underdogs. Let’s hold that momentum through November.

From- I think the writers are struggling a bit now that they have an end in sight, and they are trying to tie up things. If Henry’s fate is this obvious, I’m not sure what the point is. The stuff that happens with Fatima is interesting, and I can’t imagine the show does nothing with her Golem. The fact that everyone in this place keeps telling Sophia everything is maddening. They aren’t even trying to figure out who The Man In The Yellow Suit might be, if Tabitha and Jay are who they are, maybe he came back in a new form too. Come on guys. IF I was there, I’d be all over it. The AD here was solid, and I wonder if Amazon will finally keep an AD company around for this series, or if Season 5 will once again be an entirely new company with a brand new narrator.
Big Mistakes- Some cows are needed. What is needed is an Emmy nomination for Laurie Metcalf who is amazing. She’s easily the reason to watch.Bixie Jean wrote the AD for this, and considering what happens to the bulls, that scene was written rather well.Kudos to DVW.
Malcolm In The Middle: Well, that’s an odd cliffhanger for a comedy. Zoo Digital does the AD here I believe, and it’s not bad for the format. I wish I cared more about this. They revive shows I don’t need revivals for.
The Miniature Wife- She-Ra is back, and the written audio description for the fight sequence with the fly wasn’t too bad. Sometimes She-Ra is paired with a fairly competent writer. Sometimes. Rarely. Elizabeth Banks is a lot of fun in this, though I think the show mostly squanders its premise.
SNL- Coleman got about half his sketches written well, and some that just went nowhere. When I see a bad sketch, and I know something was cut for time, I’m always like… they kept this and still cut something else? Coleman was great in the sketch where he kept commenting on how horrible fashion choices were for a suspect, but the series wasn’t quite sure how to use him broadly. The AD was fine, but a lot of these sketches just went nowhere.
The Lincoln Lawyer- As the case progresses with Mickey, Neve Campbell is really doing her best work this season. Sisqo also hits a snag, a big snag. Roy Samuelson narrates through VSI, and this was once again solid. The whole season has been good, and really this series has had great AD the whole time. While I enjoy Roy’s work, the previous team got the boot likely for not dubbing some Spanish in the previous season, which missed the fact that they were still doing evolutionary audio description, and instead of just sticking with the idea that you should know what everyone looks like, It still commented on their appearance, continuing to add depth to the series. We made a mostly lateral move, as now the Spanish is dubbed for us, and the narration is still strong, but I do miss a bit of that late stage evolutionary audio description that kept characters feeling fresh.
Pop Culture Jeopardy- A team maxes out, and I don’t understand the format. Do they keep the money? They move onto the semi-finals? How many episodes are there? From what I can tell, they did 20 episodes. If three teams maxed out, that’s 15 episodes, so the semi finals look like.. what? I think Netflix overcomplicated the format. What’s the point of winning five games if you can’t keep that money? I guess they must keep it.
