A BAFTA nominee for Best British Film, Mr Burton seemed to matter a heck of a lot more to the Brits than here to us in America, despite who it is about. The film did get a UK audio description track, which I’ve heard. The domestic distributor is Samuel Goldwyn, who rarely if ever uses audio description, and I guess didn’t bother to even acquire the UK track. Based on a book by Courtney Summers, IFC has released upon the world a YA zombie apocalypse film that is sure to… evoke very little from you. The concept seems promising, in this Breakfast Club meets Dawn Of The Dead format, but the film just doesn’t do anything with it. We do get to see that there is a zombie horde, and the zombies do viciously get to attack from time to time, creating gory moments, but most of this film is five teens locked in their school, as the lone survivors of their community. This was certainly the most Star Trek I’ve watched since Picard. While I’ve dabbled in all the Paramount Plus offerings, every show ends up losing my interest along the way. Recapping The Oscar’s: I got 15 right, 9 wrong. Of the 9 I got wrong, I’m most happy that a female cinematographer FINALLy won after 98 years. Talk about a truly historic moment.
