‘Behind The Candelabra’ hits record for HBO movies
Steven Soderbergh’s Behind The Candelabra logged 2.4 million viewers on Sunday, which is the highest viewership for an HBO original movie since 2004’s Something The Lord Made, which was seen by 2.6 million viewers. HBO’s last biopic, Phil Spector, starring Al Pacino, managed only 754K for its first airing, in comparison. Including the 11PM replay, Behind The Candelabra had a total of 3.5 million viewers on Sunday night. The Michael Douglas/Matt Damon movie is certain to be rewatched several times as it continues to steamroll competition on its way to Emmy night. Box Office Predictions: 5/31-6/2- ‘Earth’ battles for the top spot
1) Fast and Furious 6- 45M weekend, 200M total The franchise has been getting pretty good buzz. With such a huge opening, it’s almost impossible to not drop at least in half, which would leave it with about 45M this weekend, probably edging out After Earth and getting to keep the crown for a second weekend. 2) After Earth- 40M weekend Will Smith is still a pretty huge draw in terms of box office. Last summer’s Men In Black 3 opened to 54M, Hancock did 62M, and I Am Legend did 77M. Granted, his box office has been slipping a … Continue reading Box Office Predictions: 5/31-6/2- ‘Earth’ battles for the top spot
ABC Family wants more “Melissa and Joey”
ABC Family has ordered more episodes for Season 3 of Melissa and Joey, as well as giving the greenlight to Season 4. That will raise the total of Season 3 episodes to 20, in addition to 20 for Season 4. It will be Joey Lawrence’s most successful TV effort to date, however, Melissa Joan Hart’s Sabrina The Teenage Witch shot 163 episodes. So it will likely fall short of that. The Voice 4- Top 8 Performance Grades
#1- Judith Hill- That Power (by Will I Am) Judith Hill performing a Will I Am song is like her throwing the white flag into the air and saying “I’m sorry! I’ll do a current song!”. The problem is that Will I Am songs are written for his limited vocal range, and not for someone who is a powerhouse singer like Judith. The song seems really easy to sing, despite what Judith brings to the table. She sings a lot on the same note in sections, because Will I Am is not really a singer. I don’t know why Judith … Continue reading The Voice 4- Top 8 Performance Grades
Dan Harmon Returning To Community?
The latest buzz on the internet is that Dan Harmon has been asked back to Community, after being unceremoniously let go at the end of Season 3, due to a dispute with star Chevy Chase. Now that Chase has exited the series, Harmon no longer has any mortal enemies in the production, and is safe to return. Harmon discussed the possibility of this return on his latest podcast of Harmontown. This could be a nice shot in the arm for the struggling sitcom, whose fans sat through an OK (but not as good as the last three seasons) season. Continue reading Dan Harmon Returning To Community?

The Replacements (16 People Who Almost Snagged Iconic Roles)
Just caught this article (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/24/ryan-gosling-hugh-jackman-drive_n_3328690.html?icid=maing-grid7|maing7|dl13|sec1_lnk3%26pLid%3D318270) and felt like relaying that info here. Did you know that… Jim Carrey was originally considered for Pirates of the Caribbean, but it would have conflicted with Bruce Almighty. Hugh Jackman was originally supposed to be the Driver in Drive. Everyone knows Ryan Gosling has a bromance with the director. Jackman was only originally considered when Neil Marshall was tapped to direct the film. Sean Connery was originally offered the part of Gandalf in Lord Of The Rings. It would have been Connery’s last role, had he been forced to do all three Rings films. … Continue reading The Replacements (16 People Who Almost Snagged Iconic Roles)
Saturday Box Office Update: ‘Fast 6’ Destroys The Competition
So, Fast and Furious 6 made 39 million dollars on Friday, zooming past all competitors, heading for a 4 day total of around 120M. That’s huge for a franchise on its sixth leg. The Hangover managed 14.5 million in its second day of release. Star Trek: Into Darkness dipped to third with 10.2 million and Epic followed in fourth with 9.1 million (feeding on a drought of family films). Rounding out the Top 5 is Iron Man 3 which banked another 5.1 million, raising its ridiculous total to 353 million. The Great Gatsby managed to add another 3.9 million on … Continue reading Saturday Box Office Update: ‘Fast 6’ Destroys The Competition
