Road House (2024)

I won’t bother you with my scattered thoughts on the original Road House. I found the film, watched it again, but it didn’t have audio description. I remember watching the original when I was maybe 10-12 year old, and it was a cable edit. So, no sex, trimmed down graphic violence, and weird substitutions for cursing. Then, some 30-ish years later I watched the original again, without audio description as a refresher. it is an action film, so it wasn’t very helpful, but it triggered some memories.I kinda just really remembered how badass Patrick Swayze made it look as a … Continue reading Road House (2024)

Guy Ritchie’s The covenant

Where I Watched It: Amazon English Audio Description Provided By: Deluxe Narrated By: Jedidiah Barton, Jillian Smith, and Laura Post When this first came out, i assumed it was more of Guy Ritchie’s crap. If we are being honest, he’s been stuck for a while now, and while I used to get excited by seeing his name on a film, he’s started to lose me. I think The Covenant is one of the best things he’s ever directed. Certainly, it stands out in my mind as being one of the best films of the year, and I don’t care who … Continue reading Guy Ritchie’s The covenant

Strange World

Where i Watched It: Disney plus English Audio Description Provided By: Deluxe Narrated By: Nicole Sansorella I basically live in a world where I just consume media, like a critic, whether I care about the film or not. I do draw the line every once in a while, like I have no intention of ever reviewing Terrifier 2, but I try my hardest to walk in with an open mind every time. I gotta say, i walked into Strange World assuming it sucked. It’s not the same way i chose Turning Red earlier this year, where I saw it immediately … Continue reading Strange World

Nocturnal Animals

Where I Watched It: Netflix English Audio Description Provided By: Media Access Group Narrated By: Leilani Jones Wilmore I actually really enjoyed what Tom Ford did with A Single Man, and I’m sorry I didn’t get to see Nocturnal Animals in theatres. He has some interesting visual choices that I’m sure don’t translate well when a narrator is trying to capture a director’s ‘vibe”. That’s just really hard to do. But, i can kind of imagine what he might have done with this, based on having seen A Single Man. That being said, even though that film wasn’t straight forward … Continue reading Nocturnal Animals
