My shortest list of the week so far, but I did manage a movie, and a live theatre event. So, that’s where my time went.
5) Maggie (Hulu)
English Audio Description?: Yes
I really thought Hulu was going 10 episodes on this like they usually do, so I was surprised to see we are plowing past episode 10. It’s been a few months, and I don’t know if Hulu will stick with Maggie. They have a habit of cancelling sitcoms, or killing them on their second season (Dollface/Woke). So an episode about loss might be preparing us for inevitable cancellation.

4) The Resort (Peacock)
English Audio Description: Yes
I will hand it to this series. if you watch the first episode, then jump to the last, you will have some serious questions. But, I thought this series was somewhat uneven, as it tried to balance multiple timelines, later converging them into one. But, kudos to Cristin Milotti in this final episode for being willing to do a very claustrophobic sequence. That was a bit nuts. This show, can best be described actually as nuts.

3) Home Economics (ABC/Hulu)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Well, two plots spit off with Tom and half the family going to Tom’s interview on Live with Kelly and Ryan (who both guested in this episode), while Connor’s sister just can’t leave the lap of luxury, and uses everyone else leaving as an excuse to have one more weekend in the lap of luxury, but also makes the mistake of letting her kid have friends over. Yes, there are kids in this show, even if they forget to use them. This isn’t Modern Family, and they aren’t going to create the next Sarah Hyland or Ariel Winter.
Episode Grade: B+
2) The Old Man (FX/Hulu)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Finally, I made it to the season finale, as I wanted a lifetime for audio description. Chase and Harper came together in the worlds most uncomfortable road trip to save Chase’s daughter, who is being held as collateral to get him to turn himself over. Which, as a father near the end of his days, he’s willing to do. HArer suspects there’s more, and he’s likely right, as this ended without finality leaving a second season necessary.

1) The Rings of Power (Amazon)
English Audio Description?: Yes
I finished three shows on one day. The Rings Of Power took the cake. By reviewing one episode a week, it meant I got the Season Finale after spoilers started leaking. So i knew there was a big character reveal, but I never clicked past the article titles. That reveal, even though I knew it was coming, still hit me, because it wasn’t the character I thought. I don’t plan on spoiling it here, but someone is not who they say they are, and I (like the hero challenged by this revelation) never thought to question the backstory either. Now I’m even more excited for Season 2 (which is already happening).
