The Too Much TV Roundup- October 29th

A slow Saturday, but I still managed four shows and a movie. Here’s how those four shows laid out.

4) Little Demon (FXX/Hulu)

English Audio Description?: no

I think the most frustrating thing about this show isn’t the content, which I’m sure turned away viewers, it’s that because FX slacks on AD, or Hulu refuses to use it (who knows), this show doesn’t have it. So, all of the absolutely crazy stuff that happens, regarding demons or demons using abilities, or even our main girl using her powers, a lot of that visual stuff is 100% lost on me. I’m still watching because Danny DeVito is perfect, and they wrote this neighbor character who has become I guess the mom’s best friend? She’s written very well also.

Final Grade: B

3) The Patient (Hulu)

English Audio Description?: No

To be honest, I probably should just stop and wait for Hulu to upload the remaining audio description and stop being so stupid. But I’m so close to the end, I’d rather just knock off a few points and move on. Steve Carell is fantastic no matter what, but this episode titled Ezra I think actually featured Ezra at some point, and because I couldn’t follow chunks of it, I can’t be sure. I don’t even know if that was the only scene that the guy I think was Ezra was in. It’s very frustrating to be consistently disrespected when content providers only drop some episodes, like we deserve to b confused the rest of the season. Fuck your laziness, and apathy toward my community.

Episode Grade: B

2) The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers (Disney Plus)

English Audio Description?: Yes

Thank God I can count on AD for something today. Of the four shows, this is the only one I can say actually has audio description for every single episode aired. This week, the Ducks start training, which means fun, while the other teams are worked to death. However, Josh Duhmael’s Coach is becoming a nice guy a little too quick. Even the new coach in D3 took longer than this to warm up to. Would you have eaten the untouched portion of that cake? Let me know in the comments.

Episode Grade: A-

1) Ghosts (CBS/Paramount Plus)

English Audio Description?: Yes

Look, ma! A Paramount Plus show hit the top! Well, really, it’s a CBS show. Even though Ghosts is only in its second season, it feels like a no brainer that the Halloween episode for this show would be remarkable. And this one was. Somehow, they summoned another ghost, one that had a past disagreement with Hetty, and they spend the episode trying to figure out how to send her back. I knew this show was going to top the list during the segment where the living people were trying to summon the ghost and experienced nothing, and then it kept cutting back and forth between them and the ghosts, whose life was in complete and utter chaos. I don’t watch any other CBS sitcoms anymore (they kept cancelling the ones I was watching), so it’s not hard for me to say it’s my favorite CBS sitcom right now.

Final Grade: A
