Yesterday was insane. Emmy nominations. Next year, i will start predicting bonkers choices just to match these Emmy voters. And, it was the last day of Prime day! What useless crap did you buy? Also, the SAg extension ended, which should mean the actors are on strike. i haven’t seen that officially, but that’s generally what means when a deadline passes. Considering I’ve heard the studios have no plans to negotiate with the WGA, and hopes to make them all poor so the writers will cave, I’m hoping the SAG strikes too. We need writers. Most of them. I know it’s hard to pick through that membership and kick out the dozen that are awful at writing, but we need most of them.

This poor show. Yes, I technically eventually watched the episode, but in such a disjointed function, and half of it I was distracted from being upset about the Emmy nominations. So I wasn’t even clearly focused. So, it gets a pass. no grade this week, just an acknowledgement that I am still watching this, and it’s worth watching if you like dark comedy and crime mixed together. Seriously, I started the episode, got a phone call, watched some more, stopped for the Emmy nominations livestream, filmed my reaction video, and then finally finished the damn thing. That’s not how TV is supposed to be consumed.

7) Clone High (MAX)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: I believe this had a 2 season initial commitment.
Now that Cleo is back, the show really hasn’t changed, and none of these characters still represent in any real capacity (other than that aggressive Kennedy accent) their counterparts. Like, if JFK sounds like that, why doesn’t Joan have a French accent? Why only do that for one character? I may not finish th the season. This show was probably better off dead.
Episode Grade: C+
6) Fatal Attraction (Paramount Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Please cancel this.
look, I love Joshua Jackson, but I have no desire to see a second season where his daughter basically becomes Alex. I’m not really sure why, or why that actress is channeling Lizzy Caplan. Is it because this is a possession horror drama now? While I did not see the twist of Alex’s actual killer coming, it was all ruined by their desire to show their hand at what season 2 might look like. And I already can tell you, even if they renewed it, I wouldn’t watch it.
Episode Grade: B
5) Better Call Saul (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Final Season
The weakest episode of Saul. I know they’re hitting a reset button, and after the trauma from the last couple episodes, Saul is in a different place. He’s doing low level scams. And now we have Carol Burnett. But with all due respect, Carol isn’t enough to cover the Kim Wexler size hole in my heart.
Episode Grade: B
4) Justified (Hulu)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Revival coming next week
A minor character breaks out to see his son on his birthday. Raylon has to put a stop to it. Mags is slowly being built up as a character. This show still suffers greatly from a lack of audio description, and it’ll be hard for me to really ever go above B+, because there’s always some element I’m missing. if I go through this whole thing, and the new show doesn’t have AD, i might lose my mind.
Episode Grade: B+
3) Arnold (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Limited
In the final episode, Arnold discusses his political career. I’m glad that this wasn’t all just happy good time and that the episode at least brushes some of the issues Arnold went through, like being accused of some bad on set behavior (some of which he owned, some he didn’t, but apologized for long before Me2 was a thing), and also the affair, and how that affected everything. After watching the whole show, my one concern was that toward the end, he starts talking about his great kids, and how Maria did a great job raising them. I’m surprised no one asked him directly about how his sons are following in his footsteps, and how he feels about that. That’s the one question I felt was missing. Joseph is a body builder, and Patrick is an actor. Kinda weird how they talk about his kids, but not the legacy he’s passing along through them.Otherwise, it’s a solid series. Mostly for Arnold fans, but I still feel like I learned something.

Archie never graduated high school, but a job he wants requires a high school diploma, so he has to study. Some of the things he says in the answers to the questions are pretty great which made the episode entertaining and more memorable.

1) Secret invasion (English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Probably Limited
The best moments are in the smallest moments, little conversations between characters. Once again, the scene work between Jackson and Cheadle is truly terrific. However, the attack on the convoy, while exciting, felt like any attack from any other movie. Oddly, what makes this show so interesting are relationships, which are built on trust. But if the person you trust is a Skrull, how does that change the dynamic?
