the Small Screen Diaries- 02/02/24

Today, I finally found out how Scott Pilgrim Takes Off (Netflix) ended, and I’m not sure what a second season would look like. The adventure is always in getting Scott and Ramona together, so unless they keep telling alternate versions of that story, they’d likely be together in another season. So I fully support the creators intent of this being a limited series.

Has Been Hotel (Amazon) crossed into trust building. The songs are silly. This is still a show I like but don’t love, though I give it props for being unlike anything else on the market, and also doing so without being overtly shocking like so many adult animated cartoons feel the need to do nowadays. Bookie (MAX) saw the main group basically have to make a donation to someone in order to stay alive, and I also finished Justified: City primeval (Hulu). Thank God. While the show teases a future, I hope we just let Raylon stay retired. I did enjoy that surprise guest at the end though.

Also, on the classic TV series side, The Golden Girls (Hulu) still has audio description. It made a murder mystery episode more fun. You don’t realize how old the show actually is until a reference to Johnny Carson still being the host of The Tonight Show pops up.

Say Something!
