Too Much- our duo ends up going to a dinner party where it turns out Felix might actually know the hosts, if they remember who he is. A cute episode that ends on a nice moment for the couple. not quite as aggressively edgy as the other episodes.
The Sandman- In what felt like episodes smushed together, we see Dream attend Wanda’s funeral, travel to his sister to apologize, follow her to Destiny to ask for help in finding destruction, and then we learn the whole story of Orpheus, who is Dream’s son, and now the Oracle they need. That’s not even including the flashback Dream has with Destruction, or the conversation he has with his second in command. We got some good description in terms of violence, with the furies and Orpheus, as well as that mention of the snake, but size relativity around Hades would have been good, since he’s some undefinable amount larger than Orpheus. The stuff with Wanda made me uncomfortable, because whoever brought Dream the book kept misgendering her, and said the funeral was “for them”, indicating the living family that decided Wanda needed to be buried under her dead name and wrong gender. I kept hoping Dream would do something, and all he really does is use his magic to change the tombstone.
The Waterfront- More people die. This series has a rapid body count. Our family tries to get out and away by getting into business with a larger crime family that was a former enemy, but Grady just can’t stop won’t stop. I am really enjoying Topher Grace’s energy as the most unlikely crime boss ever.
Stick- The gang runs their scam to get Santi into the tournament. Timothy Olyphant guest stars. Patience- Gotta binge watch all the PBS stuff before it disappears because we had to make room in the budget for our President to golf an insane amount of times, and insanely wealthy people to have more money so they can spend 50 million dollars on a wedding. Patience, meanwhile, she has to figure out how a supposedly dead body up and vanished, not just because it is a fun mystery to solve, but it was the older brother of a friend of hers.
The Guilded Age- Y’all know I don’t realy dig this show, but I have a habit of paying attention when I hear Christine Baranski, and there’s this hilarious moment where she had some mail, and it was basically people looking for money. One thing stood out, where her (assistant?) tells her she got a piece of mail, and she says they want money, to which her assistant says “the want you to be their founding member.” Her deadpan response “That’s code for they want a lot of money.” LOL. I could not tell you what else happened in this show. But that was great.
