Building The Band- I’m not doing a full review, because reviewing reality television seems like the equivalent of reviewing fast food. It’s easily accessible and not actually good for you. The audio description continued to be excellent, highlighting the final performances, and the last little touching moment with Liam Payne. As a series, Netflix has started to use its own content to make more, creating their own reality stars, and while this finale was shot a year ago, none of these bands have any music ready. Most of them acknowledge that it is much harder, since they are all spread out. Netflix could have invested in these groups by shooting music videos. They do have fitness options on the streamer, as well as video games on the app. they also produce a ton of original content, and could have recorded music for an upcoming original movie. or, shot a reality series that follows the winning group on their next steps. So many options, but like many other talent based shows, there’s no plan after the fact. Just money. fans watch so they can become fans of new artists, but if those new artists struggle to get new music out, then the show arguably fails.

The Buccaneers- Nan spends the whole episode convincing herself to make her marriage work, but in the end is thwarted by james, who now goes by a different name? The AD was fine.

The Wonderfully Weird World Of Gumball- So, there are two schools of thought. one is that this show is for kids. the series directly addresses that it has been seven years since Gumball did anything. So, if that lines up, the target demo for this might need audio description on what the characters look like. they’re all introduced as if we should all know, which… this is part of a series. But when you do it for kids, you have a new demo. So the kids who used to watch are now much older, and the next audience to rope in might not have seen the previous iteration (which probably never had AD). Also, the pilot has such an oddly confusing plot revolving around fast food and healthy food that I truly think your kid is more likely to have a cheeseburger after than an apple.

FUBAR- As much as I love Arnold, and Monica’s career is blowing up, I’d cancel this. The show is just not well written, and where they seem to want to go for season three seems ill fated. I’m disappointed. Not that this was ever a good show, but it still isn’t.

Who Wants To B e A millionaire- We had audio description this week. Mostly about lighting, and title design, but it was there. Already a step up from last week.
