Daryl Dixon- My addiction is the Walking dead. While I don’t think the first two seasons of the show were amazing, this third season seems at conflict with itself. it does everything from retread, to completely ignore character structures that have been set up over the last fifteen years. I hope Daryl and Carol can exit Spain for Season 4.
From- For three seasons, Victor has maintained that the far away tree can take you anywhere, and Dale just didn’t listen. So, we got possibly the weirdest death in the series. But, we also got this really awesome reuniting of Victor and his dad. I was afraid this show would try and kill off the dad before Victor bothered to go see him, but at least, he got to see his son. And, as of right now, Henry is still alive.
The terminal List: dark Wolf- I noticed that the finale this week advertises itself as a season finale. I’m not sure I want to come back. I liked the first version more. This one has a bit of a problem with violence against women, and featuring male leads I’m not interested in watching. the audio description was fine.
Have I got News For You- I wish the show had AD, but they got a few good gags in there.
Tulsa King- And we’re back! the audio description has greatly improved since season 1 was recorded on that guys computer running Windows 95. I don’t fully understand what’s going on, with Stallone being under the thumb of a government agent. The end to the season premiere is weird too, flashing back between Stallone and a guy he promised to protect (but isn’t). This series is in a weird place going into Season 3.
the Paper- Dave is just killing it. the actual written AD certainly is missing visual elements, like how the betting was happening over how much money she lost on the catfish, but Dave’s performance just so compliments the show. Right at the end, when they go to the club, and we go from a somewhat somber moment into an exuberant rave, Dave’s vocal performance just matches the moment. I wish more people got excited over this style of audio description because it is so easy to point at this and say “AI can’t do this.” He might be the best anti TTS narration weapon in the arsenal with choices so specific, AI could never hope to replicate his tone. The episode was also funny, seeing one of the cast catfish someone else in the office with pictures of Josh Holloway.
