The Life List

Since the last bucket list film was Blink, a film I was not fond of its messaging, the bar was fairly low going into The Life List for it to exceed expectations. Still, it is a Netflix release, and one that certainly doesn’t seem like it is poised for awards consideration. A lot of this has to do with Sofia Carson’s inability to land theatrical releases, and a seemingly unbreakable bond with Netflix, but Netflix also does this very well. In fact, while I can’t place the name of the film, I feel like there was a Netflix film where a … Continue reading The Life List

Friday Night Lights: 20th Anniversary

Friday Night Lights: 20th Anniversary- Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can’t Lose Quick Take: Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can’t Lose. It started first with a book, which was then adapted into a film by Peter Berg, which later became the acclaimed TV series. They are now looking at reviving the series, proving how the story of these players, and their never give up attitude has resonated all these years. Here, Billy Bob Thornton is joined by future series lead Connie Britton, as well as up and coming talent like jay Hernandez, Derek Luke, and Lucas Black, as well as Tim McGraw. … Continue reading Friday Night Lights: 20th Anniversary

The Too Much TV Roundup- 09/19/23

No big TV news, so I’ll use my intro spot to announce that Lily Gladstone, the one-time front runner for Best Supporting Actress, has now flipped and decided to run for Lead Actress. We now call this “Pulling a Michelle Williams.” Hopefully she dominates the movie, because she is now competing in films where the lead Actress is in a film clearly about them. 10) Alias (Disney Plus) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended I’m still saying that this show is too action oriented to not have audio description. However, the second episode did have more dialogue. And, if you … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 09/19/23

The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/12/23

Yesterday provided ample TV news. NBC announced their fall lineup, which included a Season 2 renewal for Lopez V Lopez, and has left its remaining sitcoms (American Auto, Young Rock, and Grand Crew) on the bubble. NBC also surprisingly revived Transplant with a 2 season order (since the series comes from Canada), and pushed LaBrea’s tiny third (and likely final) season to mid season. Meanwhile, The CW surprisingly rescued cancelled AMC drama 61st Street. I’m not sure why. I’m not sure anyone was asking for that. But this is the new CW, and by God, they will be irrelevant in … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/12/23

The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/11/23

joining the ranks of cancelled series are The Winchesters (which is being shopped to other networks and streaming services) as well as Kung Fu. Basically, The CW no longer exists. The once groundbreaking network, that started as a combination of The WB and UPN, two networks that launched hits like Dawson’s Creek, Girlfriends, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Moesha, Gilmore Girls, Veronica Mars, Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, Reba, and of course Supernatural has turned into a barren wasteland. 13) Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune (ABC/hulu) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Presumably Renewed I wanted to watch this weeks episode just because … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/11/23

The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/01/23

I can’t claim a shortage of good news today. The WGA voted finally to go on strike, which is officially happening right now. That means all guild writers, which is most of Hollywood, have ceased working on their projects. This affects shows with quick turnover rates first, like late night talk and variety shows. So until this strike is over, expect Colbert, Meyers, Fallon, Kimmel, and others to be reruns. This also likely ended Saturday Night Live’s season, unless a deal is reached soon. Pete Davidson was supposed to host this week, and I don’t believe that’s happening since some … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/01/23

Luckiest Girl Alive

Where i Watched it: Netflix Audio Description provided By: International Digital Center Written By: Liz Gutman Narrated By: Amanda Bhutan i didn’t even realize there was a book for this, or that it was some kind of best seller. i just assumed, based on the title, and Mila Kunis, that this was the obligatory “send a girl to Europe” movie that Netflix has regurgitated several times this year. I was wrong. That ends up being a limited series instead for the month of October starring Zoe Saldana. Apparently, they’re sending girls to Europ in all forms now. Instead, this is … Continue reading Luckiest Girl Alive
