Today marked the return of The Mandalorian! It feels like it’s been so long. But, where did it rank in the conglomeration of shows?
6) The Ark (Peacock)
English Audio Description?: Yes
We only have 4 days of water. Thank God there’s a comet full of ice headed straight for it. And because our audience has seen Armageddon, they can suspend disbelief and let us catch the comet so we can steal the ice and have water!
Episode Grade: C+
5) That 90’s Show (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes
As cool as it was to see Donna return, and an episode centered around the gay character slowly coming out to people… including Kitty, who obviously gave a supportive response, we ended up taking the other four teens and pairing them off so that we were reminded that they are clones. The two guys are both dumb and share the same personality, and the girls, despite supposedly not being fans of each other, turn out to be exactly like each other… something I already knew. The original had a group of very different characters. This one has a group of clones. Maybe, in the Abercrombie 90’s, that was how we were. We were all just following each other, but it just makes this thing so damn unappealing.

4) The Equalizer (CBS/Paramount Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes
They work to help out a guy in a jam when he finds himself unable to go straight after released from jail, because some gang kidnapped his brother and now he has to crack a safe open.
Episode Grade: B
3) Will Trent (ABC/Hulu)
English Audio Description?: No
ABC continues to play games with Will Trent and audio description. The case Will was on seemed interesting enough, and the other two regulars were on the case of a murdered realtor. The lack of audio description did make some things hard to understand. I think there were flashbacks, or nightmares, but I couldn’t be sure.
Episode Grade: B
2) East New York (CBS/Paramount Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes
A beauty salon is burned to the ground, but as the new crime scene team reminds our officers, sometimes the answer isn’t what you expected. That definitely was the case here. Meanwhile, there’s talk of having cops on foot patrol, to help clean up New York. Some people ask me why I don’t go to NYC, and I think it’s the years of watching TV shows and movies, with so many of them set in New York, it’s like the assumption is that people are committing crimes there at an exponential rate.I mean, has anyone figured out how many people the Law and Order franchise has killed?
Episode Grade: A-
1) The Mandelorian (Disney Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Not my favorite episode, and also a bit of a slow start to the season, but I’m happy to see it return, and Groku is always a welcome presence. but… I don’t understand. Did Joel leave Ellie behind on earth? I missed the connection to the last episode of The LAst of Us.
