The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/03/23

Last night, the series finales for The Goldbergs and A Million Little Things happened. I didn’t watch either.

10)

10) The Rookie Feds (ABC/Hulu)

English Audio Description?: Yes

Status: not Yet Renewed

I watched Feds before the flagship show again, and my initial reaction was that I thought it was funny how much this show was about luck, and yet this show is still on the bubble. That hotel room being described the way it was seemed extra silly, and i was here for that, as well as the guy who thought he was holding a nuke. But, the finale for The Rookie was just so much more intense than this.

Episode Grade: B-

9) Daisy jones and the Six (Amazon)

English Audio Description?: Yes

Status: not Yet Renewed

I was enjoying the first half of the season, then two characters had to kiss. I felt it was rushed last episode, and I still disliked the direction they kept going. Have faith that you will get another season, let us learn to love these characters as they are first without adding this complication, and perhaps instead end the season on that note. The problem is, I felt it wasn’t earned, and i was still needing to like these characters.

Episode Grade: B-

8) 911 (FOX/Hulu)

English Audio Description?: Yes

Status: moving To ABC For Season 7

Still getting caught up. I’m still not sure what to make of some of these subplots. They are a bit all over the place, but Angela Bassett’s acting is still very much on point.

Episode Grade: B

7) Top Chef (Bravo/peacock)

English Audio Description?: no

Status: Unknown, But Presumably Renewed

Synergy. Family. I don’t know if you know this, but Fast X is coming out, and nothing brands better with Fast X than Top Chef.

Episode Grade: B

6) Agent Elvis (Netflix)

English Audio Description?: Yes

Status: Not Yet Renewed

Don Cheadle has some great lines in this. But I just realized Niecy Nash was in this voice cast too. Is there anything she can’t do?

Episode Grade: B+

5) Boy Meets World (Disney Plus)

English Audio Description?: no

Status: Ended

Cory tries to learn Geography because the prize at a competition is to be a World Series bat boy. And, he learns an important life lesson instead. I’m really early in Season 1, but what happened to Cory’s black friend? This is like my third time through the show, and i only remember Shawn. But, this is the second time this other kid has been around, as he’s in the scene where they try to convince Minkus to drop out of the Geography competition. Not being able to see him, I can’t even go “Oh yeah, that kid.”

Episode Grade: B+

4) Truth Be Told (Apple Plus)

English Audio Description?: Yes

Status: Unknown

in the season finale, which was great, the only points lost were the fact that the person behind all of it was such a minor character I forgot they existed.

Episode Grade: A-, Season 3 Grade: A-

3) 911 Lone Star (FOX/Hulu)

English Audio Description?: No

Status: Renewed

i saw three great episodes, and Lone Star is in third because it lacked audio description, so there were parts that were more challenging to understand. But, Grace handling this episode was terrific, and the revelation on Captain Strand/TK’s side of things was a little bomb drop. What a really great hour.

Episode Grade: A

2) Ted Lasso (Apple Plus)

English Audio Description?: Yes

Status: Reportedly In It’s Final season

Yeah, i can see this final season. I see what they are trying to do. Ted got the support from the Dogs when he was worried that the Doc was proposing in Paris, and meanwhile, Nathan is still like an alien on his own team. Ted is watching his life slip away from him, and Henry has never been in this many episodes. There’s no way this show doesn’t end with Ted choosing family. Also, lots of love to Kealey and Juno Temple for handling her material this week. I had a feeling the story was going a certain way, and it did.

Episode Grade: A

1) The Rookie (ABC/hulu)

English Audio Description?: Yes

Status: Renewed

What on earth. All of a sudden, we got an intense, high budget season finale. Talk about going out on a high note. My mom thought it was the best episode of the series so far. It literally felt like everyone is in danger, and with some people hospitalized, and the bad guy driving off saying “they won’t even know what happened until it’s too alte”, we have to wait until the fall to see who lived, who died, and what the hell just happened. i ahve a bad feeling about Wesley/Angela and their baby.

Episode Grade: A+
