Disney and Charter have kinda sorta figured their stuff out. So, Football fans probably enjoyed last nights game.
11) The Masked Singer (Hulu)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Presumably Renewed
I really wish that this show had audio description. I’ve never really gotten an idea of these elaborate costumes. It would also help with the visual cues in the clue packages the judges don’t immediately say out loud. That being said, while my ears didn’t direct me to the person, the second clue package they gave was so obvious. This was such a disappointing episode, because their idea of best performances ever on the show were awful, and there was only just this one person who was a terrific singer and got eliminated despite no voting or competition, just as part of the preview. Did they refuse to compete against anyone? What a weird concept. Every season this show gets worse, by changing its format, and I feel this season isn’t any different.

10) 10) Buffy The Vampire Slayer (Hulu)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Ended
Now that Buffy is back to normal, she has to fight two nerds digging up graves in Some Assembly Required. It’s actually so easy to bring people back from the dead that high schoolers can figure out how to do it. This show is a fun nostalgic trip, but also a stark reminder that blind 90’s teens had a terrible time trying to watch this show without audio description.
Episode Grade: B-
9) Dinosaurs (Disney Plus)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Ended
While it would have been fun to see Ethel burst out of the ground, and audio description might have helped highlight the joke, i will give this show props for addressing the whole wheelchair factor of this giant Muppet like Dino. Not only did Earl bury her alive, but she had to crawl through 15 feet of dirt and bring her wheelchair along. The rest was kind of a morbid talk about how great the afterlife was while she was temporarily there. And the Dinosaurs have a tV program that is literally watching grass grow.
Episode Grade: B-
8) Seaquest DSV (Peacock)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Ended
I could have used audio description here too, as there were several moments I didn’t quite get, but I did love the performance from the actor who played the biological terrorist Seaquest accidentally took on board, believing him to be someone else. That dude was old school fantastic acting. it was like watching Morgan Freeman show up on Riverdale or something. Someone who is far better than the show they are on.
Episode Grade: B
7) How To Become A Cult Leader (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Limited
How do you follow up the episodes of Manson and Jim Jones? With some guy I had never heard of who ran a cult. I felt like I learned something, but who are these people who keep getting sucked into these cults? Reevaluate your lives please.
Episode Grade: B
6) Friends (MAX)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Ended
Phoebe is dating a diplomat despite the fact they need a translator because he doesn’t speak any English. Ross is trying to make a grand gesture for Rachel on their anniversary even though she says she has work to do. And Joey and Chandler discuss a threesome pretty openly on what used to be primetime TV.
Episode Grade: B+
5) And Just Like That (MAX)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Renewed
you know, I wasn’t feeling the Aiden thing, but the show forced it on me. Then it decides to back away from it and have them wait another five years. Aiden’s son is a dipshit and needs to be constantly surveyed at all times. So, Aiden can’t get away anymore. The fuck kind of plot is that? Aside from that, the last supper was interesting. I could see where these characters were headed next season, with Charlotte embracing how to use an IPhone, Miranda back in lawyer mode, Che evolving their comedy, Anthony giving up control, Naya landing a Michelin star, Lisa forgiving herself, and Seema choosing to trust. Oh, and the girl that’s moving into that apartment really should have her ceiling looked at.
Episode Grade: B+, Season 2 Grade: B+
(Yeah, there was a Samantha cameo, but that was weak as hell. She didn’t even appear with any of the cast. it was a phone conversation. Overhyped crap.)
4) The Office (Peacock)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Ended
Jim pranking Dwight by hiding his phone was just a reminder of all the great times he pranked Dwight over the years. Then it made me very sad that there was no audio description, and how so many blind people over the years have missed out on a series of truly terrific sight gag pranks. The gift wrap desk was an all time classic for me.This episode just showed once again that Michael Scott is an idiot.
Episode Grade: B+
3) The After Party (Apple Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Not Yet Renewed
It’s time for the reckoning for Ken Jeong’s character. I’m fairly certain he didn’t do it. But painting Jeong as a mastermind of anything would be an achievement. This episode ended with a cliffhanger on how the mother figured out who killed her son. But, she’s a little over the cukoo’s nest.
Episode Grade: A-
2) Good omens (Amazon)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Not Yet Renewed
I did miss Frances McDormand narrating as God, but Season 2 starts off with Gabriel walking around naked and without his memory. Here’s the thing I didn’t like about the audio description. Gabriel was in the first season, so having him reappear should have mentioned his name instead of treating him like some new character. if I was sighted, I would recognize Jon Hamm.

1) Billions (Paramount Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Final Season
Still catching up with Season 6, and Corey Stoll is slowly winning me over as Prince. He’s smarter and more empathetic than Axe, and in this episode he manages to beat Chuck over their shared pawn.
