So AMPTPA walked away from SAG talks all pissy, because SAG didn’t make the deal. look, the studios had a lot of way more specific deals to iron out with SAG than the WGA and DGA, and saying you offered them the same deal is impossible. Did you commit to having hairstylists on set who are able to properly style ethnic hair? Did you guarantee the safety of extras on set? Did you agree to stop trying to scan everyone and stop owning their likeness in perpetuity? I bet if these negotiations were available for regular folk to watch, AMPTPA wouldn’t look so good. Also, Netflix rescued Star Trek prodigy after cancellation. I mean, OK. But I can only be just so excited about Star Trek for kids.
9) Cheers (Paramount Plus)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Sam and Diane continue to be the weirdest couple, since Sam is written in a very consistent way, and the very likely all male writers room has no idea what to do with Diane. Still.

8) The Lost Flowers of Alice Heart (Amazon)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Limited
Well, now that Dylan is an abusive asshole, it really puts a new spin on Alice. And, I gotta say this episode left me a little cold. Sure, it deals with difficult subject matter, but it also expects me to buy into the fact that Alice of all people would put herself and allow herself to remain in this situation. As someone who grew up in this type of household, and killed her family to try and stop the abuse, now she’s just rolling over? It never should have gotten to the lamp scene. First time Dylan hit her, the lesson should have been that she had learned a lot from June, and was able to take care of herself, instead of turning into a shrinking violet and having ghost conversations with her dead mother. The acting is still strong, and Candy was giving me life, but the writers have failed Alice… hard. Completely the wrong direction for this character.

7) Desperate Housewives (Hulu)
English Audio Description?: No

This one is always borderline for me, was it watchable? This episode was a bit easier to follow. Lynette had an encounter with her father-in-law that revealed he’s running around, and her husband really doesn’t seem bothered by it. Which leads to a solid conversation in bed at the end where Lynette tells him what happens if he ever cheats. Gaby was blackmailed into talking sense into her former gardener boyfriend. And, Susan needs to STFU and calm down. She’s worried about her daughter now. No ma’am. You don’t get to use your daughter as bait and send her in to try and talk to the kid, and get all up in that family business, and then be surprised that they like each other. And she keeps saying her daughter is 14, but her daughter apparently took care of her mother for a long time when she was heavily depressed over her husband leaving. So, you can’t just randomly decide when to parent. If your child is available to spy in a mental hospital, then let her make some life choices.

Things are not going well with Apollo. We certainly made a huge leap from Episode 2 to 3. Now, he’s in this weird place, where his memories are messed up, his family is gone, and he’s trying to piece everything together. This is one of the weirdest shows I’ve seen this year.
Episode Grade: B
5( Ugly Betty (Netflix)

Betty is still having boy problems, but her biggest is that her boss has sex with anything that moves, and he can’t find his watch, so she has to track his movements to a bunch of girls whose names he can’t remember. Meanwhile, Daniel keeps pushing his father for the truth. Betty also pushes her father for the truth, and finally gets it.

4) Mad Men (AMC Plus)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Ended
Don has a new baby boy by the end of the episode. Pete tries to pitch a company the idea of marketing to black people (except, he doesn’t use black, but I’m not using his word). And, Peggy is being courted by Duck to work at his new firm, which would mean a pay bump she can’t get out of Don, who is trying to justify paper products in the budget.
Episode Grade: B+
3) Archer (hulu)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Final Season
Half the team is off to Ibeza to stop a drug lord, but they get stranded there. Archer pretends he’s a fisherman named Rodrigo and really gets into character, and Lana does cocaine likely for the first time.

2) Twisted Metal (Peacock)
English Audio Description?: Yes

I’m sure a second season is coming. But, we finally got our epic final battle. Spoilers, but it does effect why this didn’t hit #1. I really loved this episode so much for having a twisted metal fight, and also showing john what San Francisco is like. I even thought the ending was cool, revealing that John has a sister that’s looking for him. However, I did not approve any attempted death of Sweet Tooth, and the fact that we didn’t get one of those scenes that suggests he’ll be fine… is bothering me. Like, it’s a great episode, but I really want to also just give it an F for attempting to take Will Arnett away from me. I will not watch a second season without Sweet Tooth. So this is possibly the final episode.

1) Harley Quinn (MAX)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Renewed?
I love this so much. When we last left Harley and Ivy, they returned to an apocalyptic timeline. None of that matters. While I did enjoy Nora’s storyline and lex’s presence, this was all about Bane learning to make pasta. I want a bane series. I don’t know why Kite Man has his own series coming. Bane. Give bane a spinoff. He’s the best character on the show.
Episode Grade: BANE. (A)
