Apple better be continuing on with For All Mankind. That season finale was a beast, and did exactly what I thought it would. Because the show takes these leaps forward in time, original cast members have to keep being shaved off because there’s only just so much you can age a person. Just like how last season ended with a few original cast members exiting, it’s highly likely that the way certain characters are written, means the end for them on the show (at least as regulars). However, there was one prominent character whose future was not shown, and that leap in time certainly had my interest. Plus, I want to get to know what happened to newer cast members like Massey, and also how North Korea’s Li is doing. Is he running shit now? I have so many questions. I’d imagine the leap in time could even mean another country made it to Mars, since they did mention Brazil’s space program this season. Keep this show! It’s one of my favorites. I literally did all that I could to ensure a renewal, and watched every episode the day it came out.
Aside from that, Percy Jackson and the Olympians (Disney plus), continued on with its bare minimum character description. This episode, we’re introduced to another antagonist, who we’re told barely anything about what she looks like. Is this supposed to broaden kids imaginations? If that were true, then why would novelists go to such great detail describing the areas their characters live in within books? It would be just a huge time saver if they didn’t do that, and just left it all up to your imagination. Disney. imagineering your audio description.
This is my favorite season of Fargo (Hulu). It has surpassed even the original story. There’s something so damn good about Jon Hamm’s detestable self-righteous Sheriff that makes him captivating, and Juno Temple is badass. The audio description was also pretty great in the Halloween home invasion episode, where a lot of stuff happened in very Home Alone type of ways.
Invincible (Amazon) is in such a weird place, after the fight, with the heroes recovering. It’s like, is Omniman good or bad for Mark? Pick a lane. I also watched Celebrity Jeopardy (Hulu) which has audio description and also gets a mention. The three shows without audio description will not. If Amazon wants to fix what is clearly broken, and make sure that FreeVee has consistency across their apps with offering audio description on supposedly audio described content, I’ll mention it again. Until such time, if you don’t want to describe shit to me, all you get is the initial reaction to why your show needs audio description.
