Alien: Earth- Love it. I love how the show is taking its time to develop these characters and this world. there’s some carnage, some new ways for people to die, new aliens, and synthetic humans. If you were on the fence, I thought this was great. Watching a bunch of actors playing kids trapped in adult bodies is an interesting flavor I wasn’t expecting. t is crazy to think how much lore was built out from Ridley Scott’s original, which I’m sure he never planned for. Now, we just need someone to have the balls to do a Blade Runner show like this. It’s not as scary as it is gory, but the audio description was excellent. I loved the description of the new alien species on board. sometimes, it just mentions carnage in a broad stroke, like there’s too much to single out, but other times it is specific. The cat was my favorite scene, but will also not be yours if you like cats.
Chief Of war- less audio description this episode, as some of the characters are using English with more frequency. I’m still not fully committed to finishing this show, as it can feel like tedious work at times. I respect it for being the cultural representation that it is, but it ends up lacking the same focus Shogun had that made it so excellent.
All Of Us Are Dead- I’ll give this show props for doing a creative new angle on zombies. If you stick with it, they evolve, which really makes me think Season 2 might be this series hitting its stride. All the ideas are coming out in Season 1, like a bunch of setup for something bigger. The audio description is fine for TTS.
Leanne- And I’m done. I reached Episode 10, and i felt comfortable in jumping ship. I already have a review up. I’m not wasting time anymore. I’ve seen enough of this show that I’m picking up what it is putting down.
Irish Blood- Still trying to find something on Acorn, and this Alicia Silverstone show drops out of nowhere. I can follow this a bit more than Art Detectives, but it still really needs audio description. Still, Alicia Silverstone brings some dark humor that is appreciated.
Ballard- Bosch is back in this episode, and Ballard is recuperating from the previous episode. They also find a body, and figure out who a killer is in this episode. Overall, a successful endeavor.
