A very tiny diary. In case you missed it, I reviewed Cape Fear in its entirety yesterday. I did that after watching all ten episodes of it. In the same day. Needless to say, I didn’t do much else in terms of watching things.

Still, the week ahead for you might include a few returning shows like Lioness (Paramount) on Sunday, Futurama (Hulu) on Monday, Ted Lasso (Apple) on Wednesday, or My Life With The Walter Boys (Netflix) on Thursday. Wizards Beyond Waverly Place exits this week, though I’m not sure that show ever gained audio description. Greta Lee and Wagner Mora star in The Last House premiering on Netflix on Friday, the same day You, Me, and Tuscany hits peacock. And in terms of new shows, Ricky Gervais leads the new adult animation Alley Cats (Netflix) on Friday, Ryan Murphy’s The Shards (FX/Hulu) on Wednesday, and and Sterling Point (Amazon). Lots to come.

TV Shows Watched: Cape Fear: Season 1 (Apple) and Dutton Ranch: S1E9 (Paramount) with audio description

Cape Fear- I did a whole big review on this,and Pixel Logic did a nice job, truly. The show isn’t excessively violent all the time, but the few moments that are were well captured. I’m more impressed by the attempt at some stylistic choices, like the final shot of the series, or how one episode ends with a red eye looking at you, or mentioning a scene is in black and white.The score to this series is tremendous, and the cast did a great job. Read my fresh review if you’re more interested in all the intricacies of the experience. Do we need multiple versions of Cape Fear? Well, my review is Fresh, so, I guess we did.

Dutton Ranch- How the shit did they know where Carter was? He’s in the middle of nowhere. That lost me. Beth and Rip are driving all over hell’s half acre, and they can’t figure it out, but some random Mexican drug cartel can find him, a boy they’ve never met? Please. Other than that, a fairly decent finale to a solid, but not stunning first season. The audio description by Media Access Group was almost too good. I was thinking… Azul got hit, and like an hour later he’s hoisting a dead body on his own into a mine shaft? People don’t just rebound that quickly from gunshot wounds. he’s free soloing that, with no help. Silly. Only two shows here, both are winners, and no losers.
