TV Shows Watched: The Walking Dead: Dead City: S3E2 (AMC Plus) no audio description, Unconditional: S1E7 (Apple) with audio description, Ghosts: S5E11 (Paramount) with audio description, The Westies: S1E5 (MGM Plus) with audio description, Unchosen: S1E6 (Netflix) with audio description, Running Pointe: S2E10 (Netflix) with audio description, and The Rookie: S8E8 (Disney Plus) with audio description

Dead City: OMFG. Second week in a row, where the show and episode are advertised as being audio described but are not. Fuck off, AMC. The show is still interesting as the new showrunner, who worked as a writer on the original series, is not interested in keeping what happened over the first two seasons, and by the time we hit the end of this episode, the only regulars left are the three tied to The walking Dead. Cleaning house!Unfortuantely, he doesn’t have the 16 episode seasons of THe Walking Dead, so instead of using the third episode to boost the new characters he does want, it looks like trouble is right around the corner.

Unconditional- She’ll do anything for her daughter, and in the final minutes of this episode, Orna decides to go on a limb and makes a big choice for the future of her daughter. The AD here and dub cast are really solid. Love this series.

Ghosts: Patience brings in the Others, who turn out to be members of Floer’s old cult, so a wiser Flower works to bring down her old cult leader while Trevor figures out how to get rid of Patience. The AD here is decent. Do we get a great description of The Others? Not really. But they probably won’t return either. Maybe they will. Patience keeps coming back.

The Westies- Gotti is still trying to figure out how to get what he wants. After working around the Godfather, he finds out that the Irish drug ring is mostly run by Jimmy, so he makes Jimmy an offer he might be able to refuse. That whole docks IRA storyline hits a head as Brendan does something unexpected, and Sweeney has had enough of the wolf in sheep’s clothing. How much longer will Titus Welliver be on the show? Or hell, even JK Simmons if Gotti makes the deal with Jimmy. The AD here is also fine. Not great, but fine.

Unchosen- This mess of a series is behind me now. I’ll probably review it. The AD is the least of its problems.

Running Point- I do not understand what Cam does. I do not understand how Isla Gordon managed to literally tell the truth about Cam, and yet somehow, he winds up in charge of.. something? He doesn’t call it the Waves, but he’s acting like he’s bringing Basketball back to LA. But they have the Waves. This ending was so fucking confusing. What is Cam in charge of? Who thought this was a good ending?

The Rookie- Recycled plot alert. Tim’s mom is in town, doesn’t know about Lucy, but the main plot is that Con Air is happening, and they crash into LA, and the highly dangerous criminals breakout and run around the city, being tracked by the leads. This would be far more interesting if they hadn’t already done this before. S1E15. Look it up. All they did was trade the prison bus crash for a plane crash. When you start regurgitating storylines, it is time.

Best AD: I hated the way they ended things, but Running Point. The show balances comedy and basketball very well, and it edges out everything else.

Worst AD: Dead City. Considering it labels itself as having audio description, I would say an audio description track with no description is a failure, wouldn’t you?
