Emily The Criminal

Where I Watched It: Netflix English Audio Description?: No If you follow me, you’ll see I review pretty much anything. Frequently, I review things I’m not interested in, not excited about, and could really give zero fucks about. But, I want to talk about them, and their effective, or potentially non-effective audio description. And for films without audio description, I plan on talking about whether or not there is any point to watching the film without audio description. I mention this, because i actually cared here. I actually was interested in Emily The Criminal, and from what I can tell, … Continue reading Emily The Criminal

Best Of 2022: Top 10 Most Underrated TV Shows

So, my second list celebrating the Besst of 2022 highlights ten shows I’m fairly certain didn’t get a second season. Actually, nine of the ten on this list I am able to find conclusive evidence of that. only one show, Outer Range, seems to be up in the air. To be fair, all 10 are first season shows, so something like Raising Deon, which deserved another season, was left off the list because at least it got a second season. 10) Queens (ABC) I actually really enjoyed this ensemble about a former hip hop group looking to regain their status. … Continue reading Best Of 2022: Top 10 Most Underrated TV Shows

The Too Much TV Roundup- 01/01/23

I bet you were wondering what would happen to the roundup in the new year, based on how I was labeling it. Don’t worry, I had that answered in my mind. Six shows on New Years Day. Who managed a top spot? Who hit the bottom? That’s why you read this, right? 6) The Witcher: Blood Origins (Netflix) English Audio description?: Yes I only put a week in between the episodes, and I feel like I was totally lost headed into the second episode. It seemed to focus more on new characters, the other ones joining the group. I didn’t … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 01/01/23

Breaking

Where I Watched It: iTunes English Audio Description Provided By: Pixel logic Narrated By: Darren polish If you missed this in theatres, or if you didn’t even know this was a thing, you are forgiven. The marketing was not very strong on this one. I think I saw one review in my YouTube feed from the 40-ish YouTube critics I subscribe to, and I think I only really registered that this film might be worthwhile when I saw Michael Kenneth Williams in the supporting cast, and that this might be his last film. Honestly, it’s just your average bank robbery … Continue reading Breaking

Best Of 2022: Top 10 horror Films

Starting off the look back at 2022, and my Best Of lists. I intend to cover both Film and Television, and I’m going to work my way up to the major categories, instead of starting with them. So, today,a list I don’t think will change, the best Horror Films. As i am a blind film critic, I typically review films with audio description, though i have reviewed films without. It is possible something could appear on a list that did not have audio description, but for this list, every title had audio description when I watched it. So, below is … Continue reading Best Of 2022: Top 10 horror Films

The Too Much TV Roundup- December 31st

How did i close out the New year? With some movies, shows, and fun. 7 Shows, 4 movies. Truly, a new years spectacle. 7) Welcome To Chippendale’s (Hulu) English Audio Description? Yes It’s not that this show was bad, it just of all the shows, seemed to grab my attention the least. I can appreciate Kumail Nanjiani going dramatic here, but I think more levity in this show could do it some good. Hopefully, we swing a bit more in the middle for future episodes. To be fair, a lot of these recent limited series based on real life stories … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- December 31st

The Fablemans

Where I Watched It: In Theatres English Audio Description Available?: Yes Probably one of my most anticipated titles of 2022, because it’s hard to turn your nose up at a semi-autobiographical story from one of the greatest living directors. If Steven Spielberg wants to impart his knowledge on me, about how he fell in love with cinema, who am I to argue with him? I’m not going to be the guy who says i love every single thing this man does. Off the top of my head, I’m not a fan of Munich. But last year, my pick for Best … Continue reading The Fablemans

Year End Rankings: Which Streaming Service Is On Top?

As the year begins, you’ll see a lot of little lists from me, mostly celebrating the best I saw in film and television in 2022. I’m spreading it out, and in no way am I starting with major categories. I’m still catching up on a few titles, so by starting small, it gives me a little bit more time to get those lists done. if you’ve been following me, you’ll notice that i have reviewed titles from Netflix, Amazon, hulu, Apple Plus, Paramount Plus, HBO MAX, Disney Plus, and AMC Plus. I’m not rating FreeVee separately, and I barely use … Continue reading Year End Rankings: Which Streaming Service Is On Top?

Murder At Yellowstone City

Where I Watched It: AMC Plus English Audio Description?: no I do still watch AMC Plus films and shows from time to time, because I have a subscription. I have a subscription they actually gave me, knowing I was blind, to explore the service. They have almost no audio description, but in my initial conversations with their customer service reps, I was told they were expanding their audio description offerings, and would be revamping the app to make it work better with screen readers. Neither of those things have happened. Their big new movie releases seem to always lack audio … Continue reading Murder At Yellowstone City

The Too Much TV Roundup- December 30th

Yesterday, as we get closer to rounding out the new year, I managed 6 shows, Chelsea Handler’s new Netflix comedy special, and two films. I didn’t rank Chelsea Handler’s stand up, as i think that is really truly subjective, and different people have different favorite stand up comics. 6) Mammals (Amazon) English Audio Description?: Yes I wish i could tell you what I just watched, what the show was about, what it’s long term goals were, what genre it was shooting for, or something. I felt like I was at a total loss. Sometimes, the show seems to just be … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- December 30th

Matilda The musical

Where I Watched It: Netflix English Audio Description Provided By International Digital Center Written By: Betty Capone My fondness for Roald Dahl material is fuzzy for me. I can’t actually remember reading any of his works as a child, though I can’t actually remember reading much of the stufff I read in Elementary school. It’s like all those books just flew out the window. I know I read everything from Beverly Cleary to Goosebumps, and somewhere in there I’m sure was at least a Roald Dahl book. Was it Matilda? Perhaps. But at the cinema, his work has allowed for … Continue reading Matilda The musical

Good Night Oppy

Where I Watched It: Amazon English Audio Description?: Yes Sometimes, it can be extremely rewarding to pick a film to watch even if you don’t care about it. Even if the subject matter just pulls this extreme indifference out of you. Every once in a while, these movies surprise you. I’m someone whose tastes are all over the place. I’ll champion a tiny Sundance indie that no one saw, then be amazed by a comic book adaptation, and laugh through a generic romcom. But when it comes to documentaries, some of them are just slow, boring, and I couldn’t care … Continue reading Good Night Oppy

Glass Onion

Where I Watched it: Netflix Audio Description Provided By: International Digital Center Written by: Steven Christopher Narrated By: Jamie Lemcheck A few years back, Knives Out was all the rage and the hotness among film twitter. it had Oscar buzz, but really just managed a screenplay nomination. We are back, thanks to Netflix ordering two sequels, with Glass Onion, which once again is in the Oscar race, and very likely to again get a screenplay nomination. Knives Out wasn’t one of my favorite films from that year, though i did appreciate it. I can say that I think Glass Onion … Continue reading Glass Onion

The Too Much TV Roundup- December 29th

2022 is almost at a close. And I’m still catching up on stray shows from the past year. Go figure. And a bunch of shows that were on holiday break return next week. Oy vey! 7) Let The Right one In (Paramount Plus) English Audio Description?: No Despite Paramount Plus’s resilience in keeping Showtime programming as inaccessible as possible, I did give in to let The Right One in for a second episode. After all, I did give American Gigolo and interview With A Vampire both two episodes. The thing is, all three of these shows I would *love* to … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- December 29th

Say Hey Willie Mays

Where I Watched it: HBo MAX English Audio Description?: Yes When i started 2022, i didn’t think I would actually be watching two baseball documentaries about legendary players, but that’s how this year shaped up. The first was Facing nolan, and I followed it with this documentary about Barry Bonds. oh, wait. No, this is a Willie Mays documentary. My bad, sorry. So Barry Bonds starts off the documentary talking about his career…. Dammit. I did it again. i just get so confused. It’s like, I see the title, and it says Willow mays, but I keep thinking Barry Bonds. … Continue reading Say Hey Willie Mays
