Well, some good news dropped for two shows. Netflix went ahead and gave XO Kitty a second season, and Apple has officially renewed Silo. Well, Showtime just cancelled a show that premiered over a year ago. I think we all saw that coming. Sometimes I wonder… will we ever get to see the second season of Chad? I know it was cancelled by TBS, but it completed shooting. It was actually cancelled the day it was supposed to have its second season premiere. Did anyone buy the completed second season? Tubi? Roku? Paramount Plus and i are about to butt heads. I found out that they finally uploaded audio description for Everything Everywhere All At Once, which is a Showtime title. They still have not uploaded audio description for actual Showtime series that have known audio description. Winter is coming, you Paramount bitches. You can bother to do the work to get audio description for an A24 title, but not one of your own shows? Well, FOX is still holding out on some decisions but announced a writer’s proof schedule full of reality TV. They even revived Kitchen Nightmares. I believe ABC is the only network that hasn’t done an upfront yet, possibly also The CW. FOX has given a second season to the comedy Animal Control. Also, Disney is planning on merging Hulu into Disney Plus by the end of the year, and is currently in negotiations to buy out Comcast on their remaining shares. So your kids can watch Encanto and American Horror Story in one place! I have been integrating more and more reruns into my Lineup, a trend I’m personally enjoying. A couple more interesting WGA Strike tidbits. The Rings Of Power was told to continue filming without it’s showrunners (who are WGA members, and on strike). So if you were concerned about the quality last season, this could either be a good or bad thing. Probably bad though. And Evil, which was finishing filming on its fourth season, ended up wrapping filming early because the strike was too disruptive. I don’t know how you end early in a positive way. Definitely some big TV news yesterday. Kevin Costner’s perpetual temper tantrum has turned into this being the final season of Yellowstone. However, they are planning on doing a sequel spinoff series starring Matthew McConaughey and many of the current Yellowstone cast. Also cancelled is CBS’s 6 season success story SWAT, which was cancelled over money squabbling between CBS and Sony. Despite the fact that SWAT has actually grown its audience the past couple seasons, it’s too expensive, and a deal could not be reached. Because I always accept feedback, I’ll lead today with a correction. Yesterday, I mentioned that The Masked Singer was available on FOX/Hulu, and I labeled it without audio description. That’s not entirely true. The audio description is available for those willing to watch it live, however that audio description does not translate to on demand airings after that, for example on hulu, where I watched the show.
