FOX has given a second season to the comedy Animal Control. Also, Disney is planning on merging Hulu into Disney Plus by the end of the year, and is currently in negotiations to buy out Comcast on their remaining shares. So your kids can watch Encanto and American Horror Story in one place!
I have been integrating more and more reruns into my Lineup, a trend I’m personally enjoying. I’d rather continue to expand this way than spend more time stuck in series I’m not enjoying. So, especially on this list, this will likely be the last time for some titles, and I may be more quick to cut off things I am not liking in the future. i will always try the first episode just to see if I like it, but after that… all bets are off.

As much as as I would love to watch a John Leguizamo or Toni Collette series, I find this to be slow and dull. Which I’m consistently surprised about because the subject matter feels so interesting, but it’s moving at a snails pace. I gave this three episodes, and that’s enough for me.

12) history of The World Part 2 (Hulu)

Thank God this is finally over. This never felt like a Mel Brooks project, and I’m glad this is behind me. So much wasted talent. Like, 1 out of every 5 sketches worked, but now having seen the original, that’s not even the format of the original.

Tim hurts himself, but must find a way to compete against Bob Villa for some title. Not my favorite home Improvement episode.

10) Agent Elvis (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Not Yet Renewed
The linear storytelling was stronger in this episode (4? 5?) and I’m not sure that it totally worked. but, Don Cheadle is still very much the MVP of this experience.

8) 911 (FOX/hulu)

Angela Bassett is over here giving Oscar worthy performances as her family continues to fall apart, and Peter Krause is still missing the hell out of his family, even more after a blood transfusion helped to save a little kid.

8) Shrinking (Apple Plus)

In the episode after Ford’s therapist finally let his daughter know about his diagnoses, I kind of wanted the show to marinate a bit more on that. instead, it went and tried to balance as many storylines as possible. The episode wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t what I wanted or needed.

7) Cheers (Paramount Plus)

Diane sees Frasier is in a slump and asks Sam to pretend to be depressed so Frasier can diagnose him, which leads to Sam and Diane having conversations about their on again off again relationship.

6) Weakest link (NBC/Peacock)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Not Yet Renewed (But Very likely)
This episode had the rare occurrence of having the strongest link from the rounds actually make the final two. And then he lost. Proving that you can actually beat the best, and you don’t always have to eliminate them right before the final round.

Two new winners getting points. I’m enjoying this format. Man, James’s final answer was a gut punch. The audio description on here could be better. I learned that Mateo has shiny earrings, but where the Daily Doubles were for Double Jeopardy in the first round was let off. There was also this thing james did with being barefoot that lost explanation. I believe Andrew makes a comment about getting started, which if you can’t see what is going on just seems like Andrew is impatient. But, he wanted to get moving because James was putting his shoes back on and his clicker wasn’t in his hand. So, it was a joke.

It was restaurant wars, which is my favorite episode of the season. So, of course this ranks high. Every season. No explanation necessary.

2) Boy Meets World (Disney plus)
English Audio Description?: No

Even though I’ve seen every episode of this series before, I forgot what this was. Eric had a new girlfriend who was Asian-American and she had a racial slur thrown at her, and Cory witnessed how this made her feel, and how things like this are still happening. All of this happened during a bet between him and Mr. Feeny that had Cory teaching the class. it lit the right kind of fire, and Cory gave an impassioned speech about Anne Frank, standing up to racism, and fighting against Anti Semitism. it’s funny how an episode from the mid-90’s feels like it could have been written yesterday. Obviously, Boy Meets World didn’t end racism, but we should probably be ashamed that this episode could take place almost 30 years later, as if we’ve learned nothing.

1) Ted Lasso (Apple Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes

it was a tough call between this and Boy Meets World, but Roy’s speech to the rest of the team, where he deadpan delivers his sorrow that no one defended that he does not, in fact, have a hairy ass reminded me of why this show is so perfect. A non-consequential moment, and an offhand comment from Rebecca led to Roy’s most somber and honest moment of the season. Because of course it did.
