Happy Mother’s Day to all those out there who need to hear that. No big news today. That’s it. It’s just Mother’s Day.
13) Family Matters (HBo MAX)

Look at HBO getting that AD on Family Matters. It’s been a long time since I’ve watched this show, and I’m not sure I ever saw the pilot. Of course, Family Matters was one of those shows that changed so much as the show progressed. Laura has almost no screentime in the pilot, I forgot she had a younger sister. Steve Urkel doesn’t exist. This is all about Carl’s mother coming to live with him in his already packed household. I know it gets better, but it’s odd seeing that this show was originally shaped around the adults.

Pip has followed the shadiest lawyer into London, where things get even bleaker. How hard is it to cast a pip that can act? Was it really that hard? I like the rest of the show, but Pip is driving me insane. It’s like watching someone Ambien their way through the whole series.

This is not Better Call Saul, but Bob Odenkirk is still good in it, which is why I’m trying to suffer through a show that’s really challenging to follow without audio description. I wish AMC Networks cared about the blind and visually impaired community, but they don’t. Problem is, they make shows I want to watch. And, Odenkirk is great in this. It’s just so tough to get through.

Cory has to do a presentation on his future, which includes him becoming a baseball phenom, which Feeney doesn’t like. So, Cory thinks his hope and dreams are crushed. But little does he know his Dad will come through. Meanwhile, Morgan learns how to be really shady. A fun inconsequential episode.

9) Florida Man (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Limited Series
Edgar Ramirez takes up residency in Florida. I didn’t feel quite like this show knew enough about Florida culture, as I live here. I wasn’t totally convinced they were in Florida, or any of the writers were from Florida. Maybe it’ll grow on me. Ramirez does a good job though.

8) My Kind Of Country (Apple Plus)

I actually agreed with the coaches choice of elimination this episode. I guess there’s some country star that no one knows what they look like because they wear a Domino mask? I’ve never heard of him.

Phoebe makes it big with Smelly Cat, Monica is tired of seeing Ross all the time. And Joey and Chandler clearly miss each other, as Chandler’s new roommate is boring, and Joey is now watching Baywatch alone.

Wow. They tackled Swingers back in the 70’s. This show really is progressive. Shout out to Rue mcClanahan, who long before Golden Girls was being cast in these sexually promiscuous roles.

hulu didn’t have AD for the fourth episode. One of the six didn’t make final Jeopardy, which was kinda heartbreaking.

Delroy Lindo is terrific in this show as he navigates his post-prison life. Here, he tries to get his longtime girlfriend, who raised his daughter for ten years, in a conversation with his daughter so they can mend broken fences.

S2E9 really made me appreciate the audio description. It’s a long battle episode where King’s Landing is under siege. Lots is happening, and Tyrion seems to really have a grasp on how to stop Stannis from taking the city, if everyone would take him seriously. He has a great speech toward the end of the episode. A fantastic showcase for Peter Dinklage.

1) Succession (HBO MAX)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Final Season
Mind you, this aired weeks ago, and there was a pretty solid amount on the internet about it when it happened. Spoiler warning. But I finally got to the third episode of the final season, AKA the one that broke my heart. Brian Cox is the reason i started watching this back in the day. he is my favorite actor, and while I realize the show needs him to step aside for there to be a succession, losing Logan Roy is devestating for this show. I’d follow Brian Cox to the end of the earth. The acting in this episode is getting people Emmy nominations, and probably wins. So many people are giving their series best work, from Jeremy Strong, Kieran Culkin, and Sarah Snook to supporting players like MAtthew MacFayden, Alan Ruck, and all the others treading lightly around them. The final 7 episodes should be interesting for sure.
