Just to clarify. Yesterday, I mentioned Alert, and how I bailed due to lack of audio description. I watch “too much TV”, thus the name of the roundup, meaning I rarely get to a show when it drops, unless it’s a big show i make time for like The Mandalorian or Ted Lasso. So, by the time I watched Alert, it wasn’t live, it was from hulu, which does not offer audio description for the title. however, I found out that live airings of that program had audio description. So, there you go.
And in today’s news, Grey’s Anatomy was picked up for a 20th season (and hopefully its last). There are no more Grey’s characters, so we’re kind of like when One Tree hill only had Sophia Bush as the lead, because Chad Michael Murray and james Lafferty, the original stars, had moved on.
7) Night Court (NBC)
English Audio Description?: yes
I’m not really sure why I’m still watching. The only reason I’ve come up with is that it did get a second season… like I plan on watching this next season to see if it gets better or more consistent? It does have its moments, but it also has long moments of cringe.
Episode Grade: C
6) Star Wars The Bad Batch (Disney Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes
I had started to lose interest until about the last five minutes when it hit me that peter Dinklage was doing voiceover work, and then Palpatine showed up. Maybe we found something interesting to do?
Episode Grade: C+
5) 5) The Rookie (ABC/Hulu)
English Audio Description?: Yes
I’m sure this was more interesting to people who could see the actors in the roles, and what I assume were actors pulling double duty, but to me, that gimmick didn’t fly, and this was my least favorite Rookie flagship episode in a few seasons.
Episode Grade: B-
4) Star Trek: Picard (Paramount Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Picard and Riker bickering is odd. Picard is the legend, so why doesn’t everyone just listen to the GOAT? Anyway, this final season is total fan service for TNG fans, of which I was not. But those friends of mine who are, are going nuts over this season.
Episode Grade: B
3) Your Honor (Paramount Plus)
English Audio Description?: No
Paramount Plus still has not figured out how to import audio description for shows and titles that have been on their service since the beginning of September. So it’s a bit hard to follow this final season. That being said, that beginning scene between Michael and the Cop was intense.
Episode Grade: B+
2) The Legend Of Vox Machina (Amazon)
English Audio Description?: Yes
As Vox and vex head home to their ass of a father, I sit through another episode that really showed me how centric this season is around Vex. While those guys are doing their thing, Grog seeks help in getting his strength back from a Gnome clearly voiced by Henry Winkler.
Episode Grade: A-
1) The Traitors (Peacock)
English Audio Description?: Yes
The third traitor joined, which gave Christian the idea to tell everyone he was recruited but turned it down. Dumbass. How did drawing more attention to yourself help? Ari had the perfect explanation for the lack of a murder, since he had the shield. They would have assumed Ari had been sentenced, but his shield saved him, so there was no elimination. Meanwhile, Kate is on so many painkillers/medications/alcohol that it’s becoming harder and harder to understand her heavily slurred speech, and I’m shocked she’s still here. I’m shocked that after what Andy and Rachel went through together, that she would vote for Rachel, who literally did all the work while Andy had a panic attack. You owed Rachel. Now I don’t like Andy. If I was in that room, i would be like… can we at least vote Kate for throwing the barrels back down the hill? Can we just eliminate her on principle? See what happens?
