We have some news finally out of comic con. In The Walking Dead Universe, The Walking Dead: Dead City and Daryl Dixon both have gotten second season pickups. Meanwhile, Amazon was able to run a promo for the upcoming second season of Invincible, and Peacock showed off the upcoming John Wick spinoff The Continental, which was originally being developed at Starz. Sadly, that last project is only 3 episodes.
11) The Full Monty (Hulu)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Limited
The thing is, this show is just one of the growing trend of baffling revivals where people are brought back at the end of their life to close out a franchise. Except, this isn’t a franchise. There was a film, and a musical. Not the whole cast is even involved, and the star seems to not even be an original cast member, as a lot of the story centers around Destiny. I’m not sure why this was greenlit, as this property isn’t even that big. it would be like watching a Marigold Hotel series a few years from now and even that film had a sequel.I tried. no one seems to be talking about this, and for good reason. It lacks all the charm the original had when it surprised audiences and nabbed its Oscar nominations. This is unlikely to make any lasting impact other than a bad taste in your mouth.
Episode Grade: B+
10) Clone High (MAX)
English Audio Description?: yes
Status: I believe This Was a 2 Season Order
i hinted last week I might be moving away from this show, and I am. I did try to rewatch teh original, which I had only ever seen a few episodes, but it lacks audio description, and the new show introduces new characters that have little or nothing to do with the people they portray. honestly, it’s kind of bizarre that JFK has the accent, when they make no attempt at tying anything else together. Joan of Arc has no French accent, Cleopatra speaks like a Valley girl. Why does JFK have a Boston accent?

9) Designing Women (Hulu)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Ended
Charlene is being scammed by a “talent scout”, but the only memorable plot point was when Anthony makes a delivery to a house and the woman is naked, and he’s scared of her husband so he gets the hell out of there, only to have to face the behemoth of a man who is later angry that Anthony didn’t give his wife what she wanted. Didn’t see that coming.
Episode Grade: B-
8) Dinosaurs (Disney Plus)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Ended
Every twenty years, married dinosaurs have to renew their wedding license. Earl has to answer a series of questions about his wife, all of which he fails. So, I guess his marriage is over. But, it is a sitcom with dinosaurs, so probably not. Also, props for having Earl’s Social Security number be 18.
Episode Grade: B-
7) Mulligan (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: unknown
It’s time for an Easter egg hunt. but in Mulligan style, the eggs turn into Gremlin like characters and must be killed, while there’s a guy dropping acid that some think might start a new religion. The best joke was actually having the King of England coming over to court the First Lady. Not only was that a solid vocal performance, but I also loved when Tina Fey pointed out that it must be so hard to choose to be First Lady or The Queen.
Episode Grade: B
6) Nora From Queens (Max)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Not Yet renewed
Nora finds a marijuana plant and she and her grandmother start up a drug empire. For at least the duration of the episode.
Episode Grade: B+
5) The Chase (Hulu)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Probably Renewed
james closed out the season in fine form, annihilating everything in his path.I feel like if it’s going to be the season finale, either the chaser has to get total elimination, or the players have to win a ridiculous amount of money.
Episode Grade: B+
4) Swagger (Apple Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Not Yet Renewed
Swagger is back. one of my favorite surprises from a year and a half ago, this basketball drama has Jace closer to having to make a big career choice. honestly, the premiere was strong, but even with the audio description, I had a really hard time following the search for a coach. Swagger’s coach is offered the job early on, but then they come back around to the Principal asking the guy doing the search to take a look at one more. I was so lost. I’m happy to see these kids back, but damn. That was a messy season premiere.
Episode Grade: B+
3) Community (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: The movie Is Coming
This is really where the show is starting to take off. When a crib sheet is found in Spanish class, fingers are pointed. And an absurd trial eventually takes place. However, Abed trying to make friends with Troy after learning that “friends mess with each other”, is why Abed is my favorite character. his commitment to trying to get Troy to believe he’s an alien is hilarious.
Episode Grade: A
2) The Good Wife (Paramount Plus)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Spinoff Coming When The Strike Ends
Alicia is part of a case where a scientist is being accused of arson, and that twist is pretty good. but, most of this is about her husband’s trial starting, and how the Prosecution just flat out lies in open court to prevent him from getting bail. I’m not a Chris Noth fan, but that was such a dick move. He couldn’t win any other way except to make shit up. Meanwhile, Alicia’s son is freaking amazing at this spy stuff. He wants to know who keeps leaving packages. So, he sets up a camera, and catches something interesting.

1) Game Of Thrones (MAX)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Ended
There are a handful of television moments that truly transcend. Not just a great episode, or a series finale, but something that becomes almost another thing entirely. While this episode has a title, no one really uses it. It’s like talking to a Walking dead fan and saying “look At The Flowers”. It’s not what that episode is called, but anyone knows what that is. but beyond that, is the phrase “Red Wedding”, and we have reached that point. It’s funny that for me, while Rob’s death was certainly shocking, given the size of his character, it was Catelyn’s death that broke me the most. Michelle Fairley was so good, and deserved more time to breathe as that character. I’d be interested to see an alternative version of this where she lives, and everyone around her is dead, because she’s the caliber to play that, but also game Of Thrones is strongest when it rips off the bandaid, and kills off a character you weren’t expecting. And to do that to multiple in one episode, the term Red Wedding now has transcended the series probably more than anything else.
