Mean Girls (2024)

They call themselves The Plastics. They’re shiny fake and hard. Sometimes, when you strive to appease everyone, you end up appeasing no one. Luckily, that isn’t the case with mean Girls, the musical adaptation that hit theatres in 2024, but it does suffer from a lack of identity. The movie is neither a complete reimagining of the original film. Or a faithful adaptation of the musical. Hell, it isn’t even a new version of the musical, in the way that they just fill the movie with new songs. It tries to be everything. On Wednesdays we wear pink. Get in … Continue reading Mean Girls (2024)

A Haunting In Venice

Where I Watched It: Hulu English Audio Description?: Yes What exactly is your frequency Kenneth? As a director in your Poirot series, you tackled the most well known stories first, before cracking open the Agatha Christie library for a work that might actually surprise your audience. Both previous works, Murder On The Orient Express and Death on The Nile were previously made, but A Haunting In Venice. Is less of a direct adaptation, and more of an inspired story, with a new title and all. This is what you should be doing, showing people why you wanted to bring something … Continue reading A Haunting In Venice

The Too Much TV Roundup- 08/30/23

Well, Hulu rocked the internet with the cancellation of The Great. Just me posting that on my personal facebook feed got more comments than anything I’ve posted in the past month. People are irate to say the least. I’m not really sure what that decision was, to not announce a final season, but it’s a very bizarre call for a streamer about to raise their prices. in other TV news, the Lincoln Lawyer was picked up officially by Netflix for Season 3, which I’m not surprised by at all. 12) Outlander (Starz) English Audio Description?: No Status: Final Season Still … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 08/30/23

The TV news cycle is really slow right now. The WGA met, and were made a counter offer that they are taking a look at. Sadly, they did not release the counter offer to the press. It’s possible that they believe there’s actually something to work with here. 13) Hey Dude (Paramount Plus) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended It’s boys vs girls at the ranch, in an anything you can do I can do better storyline. It’s also Danny’s birthday. And this show has no audio description. Even though I watched this back when I was six or seven, … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 08/11/23

Well, the WGA didn’t end up going back to the table after all. So the strike is still on. i truly believe these studios refuse to budge on AI, and the guilds can’t afford to, because they understand once they allow it in the door contractually it will start putting people out of work. When you start scanning background/atmosphere talent and owning their likeness in perpetuity, that’s the end of acting, and when writers start being hired to essentially do a rewrite instead of write a script, but it’s a rewrite of an AI generated script, their already paltry fee … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 08/04/23

After a day of some interesting news, the best thing I’ve got for you this morning is that hulu has cancelled Up Here after 1 season. I didn’t even finish that show, so no love lost here. 12) Mulligan (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Not yet Renewed When trying to figure out who lands on the bottom, every once in a while I run into the problem of watching too much TV, and not really remembering something. All i remember was Tina Fey’s character yelling at someone to be a dumbass, and the Senator character joking about how Spanish … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/28/23

We have some news finally out of comic con. In The Walking Dead Universe, The Walking Dead: Dead City and Daryl Dixon both have gotten second season pickups. Meanwhile, Amazon was able to run a promo for the upcoming second season of Invincible, and Peacock showed off the upcoming John Wick spinoff The Continental, which was originally being developed at Starz. Sadly, that last project is only 3 episodes. 11) The Full Monty (Hulu) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited The thing is, this show is just one of the growing trend of baffling revivals where people are brought back … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/21/23

So, SAG is on strike. It’s a great time to catch up on a show, since most of the shows haven’t been shooting, and now even more of them won’t be. I’ve heard some overseas productions are still filming. I’m not sure how. But they are MAX projects, including House Of The Dragon. 15) The Muppets Mayhem (Disney Plus) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Not Yet Renewed Now, I really want Peter Jackson to direct a Muppets movie. For those who don’t understand how amazing this would be, it’s not because of his Beatles thing on Disney Plus. Let’s just … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/13/23

Before my TV news, I have to say that I always enjoy looking at the list of who has just been offered an Academy voting membership each year. To me, there’s always some hilarious comparison of someone who is obviously getting it really early, versus someone who has somehow flown under the water. You would think that considering neither of these actors were nominated last year that Bill Hader and Raul Castillo, for example, would not be getting offered membership in the same year. It makes it feel late for Hader, and early for Castillo. I always understand that those … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 06/28/23

Yesterday, i did attend another panel at the American Council Of The Blind’s virtual conference, this one on TTS audio description. I still squeezed in a lot of shows, because it was shorter, and most of these are half hour shows. Also, in TV News! Melissa McBride has reportedly rejoined the Daryl/Carol spinoff, instead of taking a break. or maybe she just didn’t need a long break. NBC also announced that the second half of Magnum PI’s 5th season (which they rescued), will be its last. Then, Paramount Plus said HOLD MY BEERR! They promptly cancelled 4 shows, and immediately … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 06/23/23

The Too Much TV Roundup- August 14th

I started a few more shows today, and sadly none of them reached the top spot. Sometimes, it takes time. 1) Only Murders In The building (Hulu) English Audio Description: Yes The winner today was everyone’s favorite gang of podcasters, who continue to try and solve the mystery of why they are being framed. but, it was the injection of some heavy hitting guest stars that sent this episode over the top, from Tina Fey’s unnecessarily cutthroat rival caster, Jane Lynch’s always welcome return as the one time stunt double, Amy Ryan’s deliciously evil killer, or Michael Rappaport’s exhausted lead … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- August 14th

Best Of 2016: Some Honorable Mention Performances

I’m about to start releasing my top 10 performances lists, but there are some performances this year that are outside that list. I figured, I’d list them here. Of course, this might give you an idea of what my top 10’s are, since these performances are going to be missing from those lists. I’ve left off performances I was able to already recognize in another category, like comedy, or young actor. These are all performances, for the most part, that at one time or another were on my top 10 list, but got moved off as I saw more films.
