While it does seem like SAG is taking this latest offer seriously, they do have some things to iron out, and they’re planning another meeting. Meanwhile, it took until November for Hulu to renew The Bear. Why? Are they that hard up? The series is projected to win Emmy’s this year for the streamer. They literally can’t afford to lose the show, not with Handmaid’s Tale going into its final season. Well, the shoe dropped. ABC officially cancelled Home Economics. It’s an odd decision, considering everything I’ve read suggests that sitcoms are the quickest thing to get back on the air. I shall predict that the whole thing we aren’t liking about how streaming services are pulling content will be far more common place after the strike is settled, and some of those shows they have to start paying residuals on. His Playhouse was a magnificent ball of fun, and his movies certainly were head scratchers for critics, but not kids. We have some news finally out of comic con. In The Walking Dead Universe, The Walking Dead: Dead City and Daryl Dixon both have gotten second season pickups. Meanwhile, Amazon was able to run a promo for the upcoming second season of Invincible, and Peacock showed off the upcoming John Wick spinoff The Continental, which was originally being developed at Starz. After The Other Two dropped their big bomb yesterday, Reservation Dogs followed them with the exact same announcement, that the 3rd season will be it’s last. I remember when most shows wanted to hit season 4 because it put syndication into play, but with shows no longer running 22 episode seasons, there’s no need for that. Well, the cancellation monster arrived at NBC yesterday and got rid of young Roc and Grand Crew. I believe that leaves only American Auto on the bubble. Meanwhile, ABC passed on all remaining pilots except The Good lawyer, which remains on the bubble with The Rookie Feds and Home Economics. Disney Plus and hulu are dropping several shows from their services here in a few days, so if you hadn’t finished any of these shows: Willow, Big Shot, The mysterious Benedict Society, Turner and hooch, The World According To Jeff Goldblum, Maggie, Pistol, y The Last Man, Little Demon, Dollface, or any of the movies or specials disappearing with them, now would be the time to catch up.
