I just saw some encouraging news for fans of Twisted Metal. The debut of that series (which I will start soon) is considered to be Peacock’s most watched comedy original thus far. So if you wanted a second season, there’s a good chance. Then again, FOX did cancel and ship off their most watched series because it was too expensive, so there’s that.

Considering a large chunk of what makes this episode funny is some physical comedy from john Ritter, I’d say his storyline didn’t work for me. I did love Bridget opening a psychology textbook and annoying everyone by diagnosing them. That was fun. But that was not the main story.

I actually remembered this episode in part. I forgot the part about Malin Akerman getting sucked into making lunches, but I do remember Bradley Whitford facing off against an aggressive karate instructor over not being insane and starting a fight everywhere he goes. Audio description would have made the karate sequence funnier.

Darius McCrary was not a strong actor, and he’s kind of at the center of this episode where Urkel hires him to protect him from this 7th grade bully who has legally failed too many grades. You can’t actually be his age and be in a normal middle school. He’s the same age as Eddie, if not older. Pretty sure you can only be held back twice. Not in perpetuity. The things you think about when you grow up.

The third episode goes a bit more into how the show dealt with the drugs, how the players hid their roids, and various promotional tours.

As funny as this show is, I have to dock it some this week as the lack of audio description in an episode where playing basketball is a central focus, makes for not a great experience. You don’t know who is shooting, who has the ball, or anything. Anything comic that might be happening is lost. Yes, there are other moments not on the court that are funny, but in an episode this short, that game took up a pretty big chunk.

Still in Season 6, as Jamie’s letter of resignation hits home, there are lots of questions about his loyalty. When the Sons Of Liberty pop up, there are questions there too. Can he actually rewrite history? If so, can I travel back to this time period and tell our founding fathers to put a constitutional amendment in about audio description? I’l tell them I’m a wizard from the future, and the things I know would shake them to their core, so they’d better do what I ask, since Starz has seemingly no plan to ever be accessible.

As the girls take focus in this episode, Joan finally gets a taste of what it’s like for her opinion to matter when she has to read soap opera scripts. She is not happy when after the work she’s done, they just hire a guy to do her job, and she’s back to office managing. plots like this would be easier to follow if AMC Plus had audio description, by the way. often, i never know who is talking except one of a tiny handful of actors.

Diane finally gets a reservation at a swanky restaurant, and sam thinks his days in the Red Sox will get him one too. When that fails, he cancels Diane’s, and pretends to be someone else entirely. It’s a goofy plot, but entertaining. And, Woody makes a drink that’s amazing, but can’t remember how he made it.

Meryl Streep is hilarious in this. But, mostly the first episode is all set up, with a lot of tropes being followed, including Paul Rudd having a chance to basically one by one introduce us to all the potential killers. Will the series actually move one of its leads from the building? Time will tell.

Sorry, but the whole “is it a real bullet or a blank” thing played out exactly how I thought it would. They did manage a lot of tension, but there was no surprise here. The cliffhanger is kinda pointless. I’m still curious as to how this show might get a second season.

Between Mike’s awful firefighter jokes, Selina literally running to a meeting she wasn’t invited to, her team being forced to tell her about all her various nicknames used online, to Dan having to befriend Jonah for dirt that Selina wanted, this was a hilarious episode.

Four episodes in and I’d make a strong argument that Jeremy Alyn White is no longer the lead of this show. This episode was really good, but actually pretty serious, as Marcus was featured, trying to learn how to make better desserts, while worrying about his mom back home. Is this really a comedy? I think it’s a good show, but a comedy? It has like one or two jokes an episode, but arguably so did Succession.

This flashback episode was hilarious, though I’m not sure how they made John Goodman look 20 years younger. This episode really hits home that Maymay was kind of a nasty individual back in the day, turning her nose up at her brother and everything he was doing, thinking she knew better. It’s such an interesting juxtaposition to where things are now, and how reliant she has become on Eli, because her way didn’t work out. plus side: the Monster truck gets used.
