White Men Can’t jump (1992)
Where i Watched it: Hulu English Audio Description Available?: No In case you are wondering why the hell I reviewed a 30 year old movie, it has to do with some Rewriting The Oscar’s videos I was doing for my YouTube. i noticed a bit of a deficiency in R rated fare from a year when i was still in elementary school. So, I picked a few films that seem to have stood the test of time, and watched them on whatever service was hosting them. this was on hulu. And while this may shock you, hulu does not provide … Continue reading White Men Can’t jump (1992)

Because I always accept feedback, I’ll lead today with a correction. Yesterday, I mentioned that The Masked Singer was available on FOX/Hulu, and I labeled it without audio description. That’s not entirely true. The audio description is available for those willing to watch it live, however that audio description does not translate to on demand airings after that, for example on hulu, where I watched the show. I think we’re all getting a little tired of audio description that doesn’t travel. 11) Night Court (NBC/Peacock) English Audio Description?: Yes Everyone is excited about the possibility of being invited to an … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 04/28/23
Scream 2
Where I Watched it: Paramount Plus English Audio Description?: no This is far from my second time watching Scream 2. I have highly regarded this sequel since I grew up with the Scream franchise in my teen years. I can’t imagine how many times I’ve seen Scream 2, but it’s a lot. And, in preparation for Scream 6 dropping on Paramount Plus, i figured I’d run back through the old films again. Sadly, now I can’t see, and now these films lack audio description. I’m not really sure what the business model for Paramount Plus is, as I’ve tried to … Continue reading Scream 2

Eleven shows. Plus, I squeezed in a movie. 11) The Masked Singer (FOX/Hulu) English Audio Description?: No This show is really hard for blind people when there is no audio description because I don’t get visual cues. So, in a competitive landscape, this was the loser of the day. I really thought Mantis was jimmy Fallon. This totally seems like something he’d want to do. Episode Grade: C+ 10) Top Chef (Bravo/Peacock) English Audio Description?: Yes Dale at least tried to make something innovative in line with the parameters of the challenge. The other chef made shitty potatoes. Why was … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 04/27/23
Rye Lane
Where I Watched it: Hulu English Audio Description Provided By: Deluxe Narrated By: Christian Simpson There’s something to be said about how the cinematic release of a film helps to create an aura of importance that pushes a film further into the watercooler conversation. in a world where it’s harder and harder to have those watercooler moments as streaming shapes the game, it’s sad to see a movie like Rye lane relegated to hulu. It almost certainly lost any steam it had coming out of the Sundance Film Festival, and has become a film that few will actually see. Every … Continue reading Rye Lane
Murder Mystery 2
Where I Watched It: Netflix English Audio Description?: Yes For some reason, Adam Sandler feels like that one actor whose entire filmography I’ve consumed. From the lowest of lows, like Hewbie Halloween and Little Nicky to underrated gems like Reign Over me and The Meyerowitz Stories, to my favorites like Big Daddy and happy Gilmore, I reliably show up. Whether it’s a Netflix original, a Grown ups sequel, or an attempt at more dramatic fare, I’ve seen this guys entire filmography. The first Murder Mystery was fine. This one is a little less so. Now that doesn’t mean that it’s … Continue reading Murder Mystery 2

CBS let go most of the series regulars of Bob Hearts Abishola so the show would be cheap enough to be worth continuing. I don’t watch that, but for those that do that has to suck. 8) The Golden Girls (ABC/hulu) English Audio Description?: No I think the writing got a little sloppy at the end. This is near the end of Season 5, where Rose’s former flame Buzz is in town, but unbeknownst to everyone, there’s already a man in her life. And let me tell you, this guy opens the front door with the confidence of a series … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 04/26/23
All The Beauty and the Bloodshed
Where I Watched It: HBO mAX English Audio Description?: yes I was quite excited for this Oscar nominated documentary. Yes, i saw it after it lost the Oscar, and i agree with it losing. Navolni was just a better documentary. This is something I will concede will be received differently depending on what you are expecting from it, and what you’ve heard it was about. I was expecting more of a focus on the epic takedown of the Sackler family. instead, I got frank interviews with an artist. Th As the subject of the film, Nan, an artist who has … Continue reading All The Beauty and the Bloodshed

I’m definitely a day late and a dollar short on this, but Will Trent got a second season pickup from ABC. I’m really starting to believe The Rookie Feds isn’t coming back. 8) Hello Tomorrow (Apple Plus) English Audio Description?: Yes It’s odd, because these past couple episodes focusing on this all being a sham, and Jack’s master plan falling apart all within the first season have made it far less interesting of a series. I’m now in a place where I feel close enough to wrap up the season, just in case it course corrects, but also realize that … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 04/25/23

I could use my little Tv news starter to talk about unemployed talking heads, but Netflix swooped in and announced that this upcoming 8th season of Big Mouth will be its last. 10) Shadow and Bone (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes in episode 5 of the second season, Elena is still reeling from her realization that Ben Barnes is still alive. She’s also worried about Mal. And her future husband is trying to be a good leader. My biggest problem is that the other half of the show, the Caz experience, has never felt like the same show. And I … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 04/24/23

RIP len Goodman. You did yor job as a cranky British reality judge really well for many years. 10) Gotham Knights (The CW) English Audio Description?: No I finally got around to checking out this very CW version of a comic book show. This one follows Batman being killed, and his adopted son has no idea Bruce was Batman. But, there’s Robin, and this kid has friends who feel like they fell out of Riverdale, and that kind of self aware dialogue that reflects how no one actually speaks. I thought this was a dumpster fire. It’s been a minute … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 04/23/23

I’m almost to a large break in my schedule, where I plan on dropping a bunch of reviews I know I’m behind on. Be afraid. 5) night Court (Peacock) English Audio Description?: Yes This episode about wedding planning was a little funnier. I got some chuckles in there. This show really does need to be more consistent though. Episode Grade: B- 4) The Legend of Vox Machina (Amazon) English Audio Description?: Yes Somehow, we got way more than 10 episodes this season, and it feels like we are really stretching this season out. There was a peak to this season, … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 04/22/23

In TV News, and if you followed my recaps, you know how I feel. Disney Plus axed National Treasure. While there were some decent cast members, this show was an absolute mess. I’m not the least bit surprised. And how hard is it to get Just Fucking Bartha to be a series regular? What the hell is he doing right now? 6) 6) Top Chef (Peacock) English Audio Description?: No A pretty strong day for TV shows, but I’d really love it if they would stop trying to get me to watch Last Chance Kitchen. not having an elimination because … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 04/21/23

I was too busy. I almost got a third episode done to review, but I couldn’t find enough time to finish it. However, I do have TV news. To the shock of no one, ABC has renewed Station 19. 2) The Connors (ABC/Hulu) English Audio Description?: Yes I enjoyed the Becky getting a date plot a lot more than Darlene taking a job at a school no one has ever heard of as a lunch lady to get Mark free tuition. That kid is way too smart, and you’re telling me no one in this entire country has scholarship for … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 04/20/23

I have no idea if there was substantial television news yesterday. I do however know that I saved a ton of money on my car insurance by switching to GEICO. That lizard has been alive way too long for them to not know what they’re doing over there. 5) 911 Lone Star (FOX/hulu) English Audio Description?: no Everything is pretty straight up fire that I watched yesterday. This one is the weakest of the five, only because the payoff doesn’t exist. in the same episode, we learn that Cap’s new girlfriend is in an open marriage, we meet the interesting … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 04/19/23
