I did not plan this today. But i watched a new episode of Citadel the same day Amazon greenlit a second season. So that is my big TV news story to rock your world this morning.
12) All In The Family (FreeVee)
English audio Description?: No
Status: Ended
Other than remembering Rob Reiner yelling about his Polish heritage at one point, my sleep last night completely erased what this episode was about. Occasionally that’s a problem with a show when i watch this much stuff in one day.

11) Futurama (Hulu)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Revived
Trying to catch up on this, and it’s a very sight gag forward series which makes it hard to always get the joke. There was a scene where they were talking about water usage, and by the sound effects I figured out Fry was using a ton of shower water, but the lack of audio description is really putting a bit of a damper on this.

10) Shrinking (Apple Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Renewed
Harrison Ford obviously has the most compelling storyline as a grumpy man who has a right to be grumpy as he navigates his Parkinson’s diagnoses, and even Sean’s narrative about calming down is relevant, but somehow this show is making me dislike Jason Segal. Which is really hard to do. I love this guy, and he’s the worst written character. At the end of the episode, when he’s fighting with his daughter, I kind of agreed with her. You can’t just wake up one morning and decide to be a parent, after being a trainwreck (and arguably still one) for so long.

9) 8 Simple Rules (Disney Plus)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Ended
Paul is watching his kids grow up too fast, and it’s ruining Halloween. Katey Sagal is once again relegated to a mostly one note background character, so John Ritter can explore his neurosis and demand his children do Halloween his way so no one but him has fun. Then, because it’s a sitcom, everyone does because they did what he wanted to do.
Episode Grade: B
8) Saint Ex (Hulu)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Limited?
This random Hulu show opened with a giant preview of the whole season, instead of letting me pick up on what the show was trying to put down. It seems like one of those rich white people out of touch shows, mixed with a murder investigation. Interestingly, the pilot was directed by Dee Rees (Mudbound), so I was expecting more.
Episode Grade: B
7) Somebody Somewhere (HBo)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Unknown
This is one of those shows that seems really promising, but just hasn’t had the full embrace culturally like it should. Like, how FX has the excellent Breeders that no one watches, or Apple’s Trying. It’s a solid show that those who have seen it find humor in, but they also struggle to find someone else who has seen it.
Episode Grade: B
6) The Night Agent (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Renewed
I was all in on this episode for a while, then the show felt like I needed to watch the assassin couple sit in a car and have conversations about their future, and babies. I cannot stress this enough. The character development with these characters is absolutely killing this show. Characters like that are best left without complicated emotions, as that makes them a lot scarier when they pop up. I also hate that the female assassin still has no name. Five episodes in and she’s still the one with hazel eyes.

5) Citadel (Amazon)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Renewed
Well, we are moving along at a good pace. Priyanka shows back up in a big way. And for some reason, our high level spies leave a villain who is pretty relentless at tracking them down, alive. I’m not sure why, other than the story needed them to.
Episode Grade: B+
4) 911 (FOX/Hulu)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: moving To ABC
This was a solid episode for peter Krause, who spent most of the episode dealing with unresolved guilt, while a camera crew followed his team around. Then came the laced brownies, and suddenly his sobriety is out the window.
Episode Grade: A-
3) UnPrisoned (hulu)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Not Yet Renewed
Kerry Washington’s influencer is also an actual therapist? Well, she ends up hosting a gender reveal party, while her dad takes his ice cream business to the next level while saving a dog from a hot car, and getting a hot lunch date in the process.

2) Frasier (Paramount Plus)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Soon To Be Revived
While Martin wants to bring out the Christmas decorations, it turns out the new lady Frasier is dating thinks he’s Jewish. He tells her he’s not, but it’s her mom that seems to care, which leads to Frasier needing to pretend to be Jewish on Christmas Eve in a comedy of errors.

1) Better Call Saul (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Final Season
Waiting for this to have audio description on Netflix is so worth it. The narration is really good. And considering Nacho has an impossible choice to make this episode, he does it, to make sure his father stays safe. I’d say, these first couple episodes should be a For your Consideration campaign for Nacho’s Emmy, but I think he’ll once again be forgotten.
