I shall predict that the whole thing we aren’t liking about how streaming services are pulling content will be far more common place after the strike is settled, and some of those shows they have to start paying residuals on. So take this strike, and if there is a relatively obscure series on a streaming service right now that you have not seen yet… watch the hell out of it. It likely will get purged. Honestly, I never thought HBo would purge Westworld, so all bets are off.
11) Dark Winds (AMC Plus)

The second episode didn’t even have that dialogue boost. There was less Navajo spoken in the second episode, but the creepy elements of the series seem to becoming more prominent, and I have no idea what people are seeing, what is lurking, or if something is seeing a character that can’t seee it. Not to mention, just following these characters without audio descrption is a chore. I don’t recognize any of these actors, so I’m never really sure who is speaking. I gave this two episodes out of an attempt at respect to the show’s creators. If you want me to watch your show, you need to advocate for it to have audio description. It’s that simple.
Final Grade: unwatchable
10) Desperate Housewives (Hulu)
English Audio Description?: No

The ladies of Wisteria Lane have everything, except audio description. This cast does feature actors I’m more familiar with, so it’s easier to track their voices, and now that I’m five episodes in I’m starting to get a bit of the plot. But often, the in series narration from Mary Beth isn’t helpful, and there is a mystery element that i feel like is lost on me. However, when Lynette’s husband casually mentions the possibility of her homeschooling her Hell Spawn, I really thought she was going to murder him right then and there. That dude needs to spend a week alone with his kids.

9) Futurama (Hulu)

I don’t know. The gang was trying to teach someone who wanted to destroy things that there’s value in life. Something like that. I’m still trapped in Season 2, and this series could really use audio description.
Episode Grade: C+
8) Dinosaurs (Disney Plus)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Ended
There’s something funny about the Dino’s having a Christmas episode, even though they predate the person whose birth that date celebrates. I know it’s silly, and everyone does holiday episodes, but this had some really odd focus on being able to return things to satisfy Earl, who was really upset because things didn’t work out. Definitely not a classic Holiday episode, but it should be, because talking Dinosaurs are celebrating the birth of Christ.

7) 7) Justified (Hulu)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Revival now airing.
Still in Season 3, we have yet another shootout. Yes, I can tell this is a better series than I’m grading it on, but it also has moments where I have no idea what just happened. Lots of those. I’m being incredibly generous with these grades.
Episode Grade: B
6) Happy Endings (Roku)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Ended
This was easier to understand than justified, without audio description. Casey Wilson’s character wanted a stereotypically gay friend, and the recently broken up couple tried moving on. one went and found a roommate that put them on a secret hidden cam girl website, and the other thought he should ask this girl he just met to move in, which even she admits later on was crazy fast. The ensemble here is strengthening.

5) The Witcher (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Renewed
The Milfguardians attack the stronghold where all the various mages are trying to win by casting spells. It’s a bloodbath. Meanwhile, Siri is still protected for now, and Garolt is injured. This ws a pretty epic episode, but I had a lot of great episodes this week, and sidelining the titular Witcher I think pulled this down to fifth.

Will is being pushed out of his own company now, which he will not stand for. Not only don’t they want him in the new company, but now they want him out of the bar, and he’s the brew man. He does kinda crash Charlie’s life a bit, but Charlie kinda deserves it. I was worried Charlie was going to make a fuss at Sylvia but it turned out he had his own secret.

3) I Am A Virgo (Amazon)

Cootie is watching the world around him being set to demonize him, even as it becomes clear that the hero is not really a hero. Boots Riley really has something to say with this series. I’m not sure how the tiny people fit in though. That’s the one hanging chad for me. Otherwise, I was so upset that these terrible things were happening to fictional characters, because in my soul I know these experiences happen every day.

2) Yellowjackets (Paramount Plus)

Here’s the rub. I was surprised the girl survived the wolf attack, and the girls sewing her face back together gave me the Willie’s. But, then we had this plane thing. A girl who is not currently alive in the main timeline gets into a plane. For me, I wish it hadn’t happened the way it did, because then people would wonder where the hell she ended up. It’s already pretty clear that everyone is going to die except those that have adult counterparts, but allowing Lorelei to fly off would have actually been more powerful instead of the weird spontaneous combustion. Like, why? I feel like this is one of those shows that will never explain it either. It’s a bold choice, but was it the right one? Still, I can’t argue it was a big moment, as the girls all saw it happen.

1) Game Of Thrones (MAX)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Ended
I have some problems, but this show is never truly logical, and most of these characters react passionately. First, Tyrion telling Shae all those hurtful things to get her to leave so she would finally be safe, was a hell of a thing. A great performance from Peter Dinklage. but, as we move into Joffrey’s wedding, those who have seen the show know what happened. How on earth would anyone assume it was him? What, he knew Joffrey would lose his shit and make him the cup bearer? Watching just this episode, I wanted to know who made that pie. There were still dead birds in that pie. Who the fuck eats that pie? If I was at that wedding, my initial reaction would have been the pie, but then again, Marjorie I think also had some pie. lord knows why. She needs to make better life choices. Anyway, it’s a major turning point for the series, and of course this was going to be on top.
