Commence the audio description feedback! 7) Mayor Of Kings Town (Paramount Plus) English Audio Description?: Yes There was a really odd way to describe something, which made it sound like the described thing was optional. The description was something like “Tatiana, with her back tattoo, rides….” In reference to sex. I’m guessing this is the first time Tatiana’s tattoo is visible. I am barely awake sometimes during this show. But, to me, the way it was described felt more like the way you would describe something that was optional, perhaps like a red wig, or lacy bra, not a more … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 03/22/23

Netflix ws really gonna try me like that. Kaleidoscope didn’t leave my continue watching queue, and I was like… haven’t I seen all of this? Clicked on it, and low and behold, it just tries to start you over in another cycle. I don’t want to just keep rewatching the series in new orders over and over. Jesus. Give it a second season, and then we’ll talk. 5) Lockwood and Company (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes points to the AD team who seem to constantly have some crazy shit to deal with, like this episode, where our leading lady gets … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 03/20/23

The Too Much TV Roundup- 03/19/23

For a Sunday, this is a little low. I’ll grant you that. The only show I’ve been watching was Dear Edward. The other 4 are my first episodes of their series/season. 5) Perry Mason (HBo MAX) English Audio Description?: Yes Starting off Season 2. I know we are just getting started, and this season is all about establishing new characters, and the plot going forward, but it still somehow felt slow. It also feels like Matthew Rhys takes a step back at the top of the season, putting perry in the background so that this story can be told. I … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 03/19/23

Big TV News? Knock At The Cabin is coming to Peacock next week. Maybe that counts? Saturdays are not known for being big news days. 8) The Bad batch (Disney Plus) English Audio Description?: Yes I think, I’m not really into this series anymore. i feel like I’m trying to force myself through this season, but truthfully, The mandalorian is making me realize what it is I actually want out of a Star Wars show. Running these two on top of each other is a mistake. I don’t know that I’ll finish the season. Episode Grade: C+ 7) 1923 (Paramount … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 03/18/23

First, condolences to the family of actor Lance Reddick, who passed away yesterday at the age of 60. he was such a recognizable voice in the TV industry, starring on many of your favorite shows. Certainly, fans of the roundup noticed me last praising his work on the unfortunate Resident Evil adaptation on Netflix. Second, if Maggie is now also leaving Grey’s Anatomy, is it stilll Grey’s Anatomy? Would Frasier be Frasier without Frasier? I think not. It’s time to put that show down. I have a fear that suddenly a new Grey that no one knew about will pop … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 03/17/23

I did just make it through a “Save Our Shows” poll, the one conducted over at TVLine, which the networks don’t always follow. It hilariously reminded us that the top 3 shows from last years poll, all CW shows, got cancelled, while the bottom two shows, Welcome To Fletch and Grand Crew both got second seasons. And guess what? Those two shows are the lowest rated of the remaining bubble shows on their respective networks. This year, the leading nominees aren’t really “bubble shows”, in the traditional sense. I’ve heard both Blue Bloods and SWAT, which are leading the poll, … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 03/16/23

Today, I do have a spot of TV News. Disney Plus, likely to the surprise of no one, cancelled their disappointing Willow TV series. It’s all about the casting, guys. And, also…. Bringing a property back from the 80’s that’s aimed at the younger crowd, who probably haven’t seen Willow, was maybe a mistake. 7) Will Trent (ABC/Hulu) English Audio Description?: No Someone had to lose today, so it might as well be one of the shows that did not provide audio description. This has very much been a recurring problem with Will Trent, which leads me to believe ABC … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup: 03/15/23

The Too Much TV Roundup- 03/14/23

I’m not sure I have a profound revelation about television today other than that I did finally check out one of those very few licensed films Apple Plus hosts for a short term, only to find out it did not have audio description. For shame. 6) 1923 (Paramount Plus) English Audio Description?: Yes This show is a bit all over the place sometimes, proving that perhaps Taylor Sheridan has too many fires in the oven. The focus was back on the Duttons, and the strongest part of this episode was Jake (Harrison Ford) actually having something to do other than … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 03/14/23

The Too Much TV Roundup: 03/13/23

First off, I wanted to start off todays list by stating that yesterday, when I mentioned the Oscar’s Red Carpet, the way I chose to phrase my snarky comments made it almost sound like I didn’t like the audio description team. My comments were directed specifically at the hosts responsible for asking inane questions, like how Hugh Grant enjoyed his cameo in Glass Onion. Now with that out of the way, here we go. 8) Animal Control (FOX/Hulu) English Audio Description?: No This is one of those shows where the lead actor has bought it some grace period, but I … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup: 03/13/23

Around the Oscar’s, I still managed to watch a spot of television. I did watch the Oscars. And they will be ranked. 9) The Oscars Red Carpet (ABC) English Audio Description?: Yes Points to the live audio description, but our hosts this year were dreadful. Oddly enough, the guy they found with the social following was the best of that group. Ask better questions. And why couldn’t Hugh Grant be bothered? Final Grade: C+ 8) The Great North (FOX/ Hulu) English Audio Description?: No I cannot for the life of me remember what happened. Like, my brain is struggling to … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 03/12/23

I got through a little more TV during Oscar week. Not much. not my usual Saturday. 6) Your honor (Paramount Plus) English Audio Description?: No The fact that Showtime and P+ have merged, and Showtime is changing its name to reflect that, and this fucking service has been on Paramount plus since the start of September, and they *still* refuse to upload audio description is just unfuckingbelievable to me. I’m not grading this. Paramount Plus, your treatment of the blind community is rancid dogshit. Episode Grade: Who The Fuck Knows I’m tired of making excuses. 5) Not Dead Yet (ABC/Hulu) … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 03/11/23

Here’s a look at the small amount of TV I watched yesterday. 4) National Treasure: Edge Of Hedge (Disney Plus) English Audio Description?: Yes Well, this roller coaster, borderline disaster of a series has come to an end. Thank you Jeebus. Disney, it’s OK to cancel this. i give you permission. it’s actually unfair to let this continue to wander about while Big Shot and The mighty Ducks are no more. Episode Grade: C+, Season 1 Grade: C+ 3) The Connors (ABC/Hulu) English Audio Description?: Yes What a weird lesson. Mark isn’t passionate about music so he shouldn’t use it … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup: 03/10/23

The Not Enough Time Roundup- 03/08/23

Again, I’m still trying to rewatch some Oscar movies before the big day. So, I’m watching a smidge less TV. 5) The Problem With jon Stewart (Apple plus) English Audio Description?: Yes I actually liked everything I watched today. So, while it’s in 5th place, the return of this program, the beginning of the second half of the season, is still getting good marks. Episode Grade: A- 4) The Good Doctor (ABC/hulu) English Audio Description?: Yes lots of different storylines. The show brought back a character. Lea doesn’t want a boring minivan. Park had to fix the guy who broke … Continue reading The Not Enough Time Roundup- 03/08/23

The Not Enough Time Roundup: 03/06/23

As I hinted, this week was going to be primarily devoted to movies with the Oscar’s coming up on Sunday. So, here’s a glance at the 5 shows I squeezed in. 5) American Idol (ABC/Hulu) English Audio Description?: No This show needs audio description. I want to know what these people look like. This show lost the day because I hate when the panel of judges tries to tell the world that vibrato is something awful that needs to be killed with fire. It’s the correct way to sing, that girl sounded great, her career will last forever because her … Continue reading The Not Enough Time Roundup: 03/06/23

The Too Much TV Roundup- 03/05/23

So, the next week of this might seem a little sparse. It’s Oscar week, and I’m not going to cram as much TV into this coming week, instead, I’m trying to rewatch a few things, and maybe cram in a final film or two. Some shows will just have to take a week off from the roundup. Don’t worry, I still plan on getting some heavy hitters on this list. But, this is what I managed yesterday. 7) The Company You Keep (ABC) English Audio Description?: Yes Poor Milo. I know he thinks he left This Is us and transitioned … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 03/05/23
