Basically, what I did for Mother’s Day was watch TV with my mom. I think this is the most amount of titles I’ve accomplished in one day. 16) Am I Being Unreasonable? The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/12/23

Yesterday provided ample TV news. NBC announced their fall lineup, which included a Season 2 renewal for Lopez V Lopez, and has left its remaining sitcoms (American Auto, Young Rock, and Grand Crew) on the bubble. NBC also surprisingly revived Transplant with a 2 season order (since the series comes from Canada), and pushed LaBrea’s tiny third (and likely final) season to mid season. Meanwhile, The CW surprisingly rescued cancelled AMC drama 61st Street. I’m not sure why. I’m not sure anyone was asking for that. Where I Watched it: Disney Plus English Audio Description provided By: Deluxe Narrated By: Helen Vasee I feel pretty confident that a Marvel movie that opened in February and was not exactly welcomed with open arms should be dropping this month. joining the ranks of cancelled series are The Winchesters (which is being shopped to other networks and streaming services) as well as Kung Fu. Basically, The CW no longer exists. FOX has given a second season to the comedy Animal Control. Also, Disney is planning on merging Hulu into Disney Plus by the end of the year, and is currently in negotiations to buy out Comcast on their remaining shares. So your kids can watch Encanto and American Horror Story in one place! I have been integrating more and more reruns into my Lineup, a trend I’m personally enjoying. Well, CBS picked up the dramas I predicted, Matlock and Elzabeth as well as the Wayans family sitcom. Also, The CW renewed Walker, but cancelled Walker independence. Where I Watched it: Paramount Plus English Audio Description?: No Scream 4 is kind of brilliant. It doesn’t have audio description, but I’ve been a fan of this since the beginning. Well, fans of SWAT have had a very confusing past couple of days. After cancelling the hit drama on Friday, and seeing a torrent of backlash for cancelling a show that has risen in ratings every season, CBS has reversed its decision and given SWATT a 7th season renewal. That renewal comes at the expense of Freshman drama East New York, which was looking good for renewal and instead got the boot. A couple more interesting WGA Strike tidbits. The Rings Of Power was told to continue filming without it’s showrunners (who are WGA members, and on strike). So if you were concerned about the quality last season, this could either be a good or bad thing. Probably bad though. And Evil, which was finishing filming on its fourth season, ended up wrapping filming early because the strike was too disruptive. I don’t know how you end early in a positive way.
