Disney Plus and hulu are dropping several shows from their services here in a few days, so if you hadn’t finished any of these shows: Willow, Big Shot, The mysterious Benedict Society, Turner and hooch, The World According To Jeff Goldblum, Maggie, Pistol, y The Last Man, Little Demon, Dollface, or any of the movies or specials disappearing with them, now would be the time to catch up. I would recommend a binge of Big Shot if you never got to see it. Easily the best show they are removing. 12) Extrapolations (Apple Plus) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/18/23

Well, FOX is still holding out on some decisions but announced a writer’s proof schedule full of reality TV. They even revived Kitchen Nightmares. I believe ABC is the only network that hasn’t done an upfront yet, possibly also The CW. It’s hard to tell in this day and age when the Networks are feeling less energized and also avoiding writer’s strike blowback. 11) Tiny beautiful Things (Hulu) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited Series I think with each episode of Kathryn Hahn’s dark comedy I tend to dislike it more. I’m not really settling in, nor do I feel … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/15/23

Yesterday provided ample TV news. NBC announced their fall lineup, which included a Season 2 renewal for Lopez V Lopez, and has left its remaining sitcoms (American Auto, Young Rock, and Grand Crew) on the bubble. NBC also surprisingly revived Transplant with a 2 season order (since the series comes from Canada), and pushed LaBrea’s tiny third (and likely final) season to mid season. Meanwhile, The CW surprisingly rescued cancelled AMC drama 61st Street. I’m not sure why. I’m not sure anyone was asking for that. But this is the new CW, and by God, they will be irrelevant in … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/12/23

joining the ranks of cancelled series are The Winchesters (which is being shopped to other networks and streaming services) as well as Kung Fu. Basically, The CW no longer exists. The once groundbreaking network, that started as a combination of The WB and UPN, two networks that launched hits like Dawson’s Creek, Girlfriends, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Moesha, Gilmore Girls, Veronica Mars, Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, Reba, and of course Supernatural has turned into a barren wasteland. 13) Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune (ABC/hulu) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Presumably Renewed I wanted to watch this weeks episode just because … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/11/23

FOX has given a second season to the comedy Animal Control. Also, Disney is planning on merging Hulu into Disney Plus by the end of the year, and is currently in negotiations to buy out Comcast on their remaining shares. So your kids can watch Encanto and American Horror Story in one place! I have been integrating more and more reruns into my Lineup, a trend I’m personally enjoying. I’d rather continue to expand this way than spend more time stuck in series I’m not enjoying. So, especially on this list, this will likely be the last time for some … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/10/23

A couple more interesting WGA Strike tidbits. The Rings Of Power was told to continue filming without it’s showrunners (who are WGA members, and on strike). So if you were concerned about the quality last season, this could either be a good or bad thing. Probably bad though. And Evil, which was finishing filming on its fourth season, ended up wrapping filming early because the strike was too disruptive. I don’t know how you end early in a positive way. I would assume that means scenes are not being shot. I would think that affects the continuity of the show. … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/07/23

I read an interesting news story that fans of Netflix shows have noticed that Netflix loves to cancel their product, and are now banding together to try and stop these cancellations. For example, there’s an entire subreddit devoted to Shadow and Bone where over 24K fans keep rewatching the show over and over to keep its numbers up. I wonder if just going to work, and leaving your Netflix running on Shadow and Bone couldn’t at least get you some hours in there. Also, Richard Dreyfuss did an interview where he wanted to know why he can’t play a black … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/06/23

Definitely some big TV news yesterday. Kevin Costner’s perpetual temper tantrum has turned into this being the final season of Yellowstone. However, they are planning on doing a sequel spinoff series starring Matthew McConaughey and many of the current Yellowstone cast. Also cancelled is CBS’s 6 season success story SWAT, which was cancelled over money squabbling between CBS and Sony. Despite the fact that SWAT has actually grown its audience the past couple seasons, it’s too expensive, and a deal could not be reached. Finally, FOX is no longer speaking with Mayim Bialik, as they have stopped Call Me kat … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/05/23

I celebrated Star Wars Day by not watching any Star Wars. Listen. i watched and reviewed all the titles last year before obi Wan dropped. I’m good to go for this year. Also, production on some shows continue to shut down due to the writers strike. The most recent shows affected are hacks, American Horror Story, and billions. 12) The power (Amazon) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Not yet Renewed Amazon’s drama, which I love the concept, but not the execution, continues to be kind of a mess. It’s characters are spread out. Generally, the lead is the big name, … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/04/23

Last night, the series finales for The Goldbergs and A Million Little Things happened. I didn’t watch either. 10) 10) The Rookie Feds (ABC/Hulu) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: not Yet Renewed I watched Feds before the flagship show again, and my initial reaction was that I thought it was funny how much this show was about luck, and yet this show is still on the bubble. That hotel room being described the way it was seemed extra silly, and i was here for that, as well as the guy who thought he was holding a nuke. But, the finale … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/03/23

Well, I messed this post up earlier, and in order to get a notification sent out with the correct title, i redid the roundup. In case you missed that bulletin, Dancing With The Stars is returning to ABC. between that and 911, things aren’t looking good for bubble dramas like Big Sky, Alaska Daily, The Company you Keep, and The Rookie Feds. 9) Outlast (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes In the last ranking, I didn’t put Outlast in last, and this gives me the opportunity to do it. I think this show and the producers made a huge error. I … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/02/23

I can’t claim a shortage of good news today. The WGA voted finally to go on strike, which is officially happening right now. That means all guild writers, which is most of Hollywood, have ceased working on their projects. This affects shows with quick turnover rates first, like late night talk and variety shows. So until this strike is over, expect Colbert, Meyers, Fallon, Kimmel, and others to be reruns. This also likely ended Saturday Night Live’s season, unless a deal is reached soon. Pete Davidson was supposed to host this week, and I don’t believe that’s happening since some … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/01/23

The Too Much TV Roundup: 03/23/23

Well, FOX went ahead and renewed their shittiest shows first, making sure that Alert and Accused joined the already shitty and renewed The Cleaning Lady. I’m being a bit harsh. I thought The Cleaning Lady was dull, Alert was hard to follow without AD and the acting wasn’t great, and I just don’t enjoy shows formatted like Accused. Ironically, none of these shows are the top show of FOX, which is actually 911, which I’m hearing FOX is being a whiny little bitch about. Their top show is too expensive. Well, no shit. You landed Angela Bassett as the lead, and … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup: 03/23/23
