Well, that Disney/Hulu pull list I mentioned earlier got a little shorter as the internet clapped back about one title Disney was planning on purging, the documentary Howard, which centers around the composer Howard Ashman who was instrumental in the revival of Disney, starting with The little Mermaid. Not only did it seem in poor taste to remove a documentary about an LGBT icon right before pride month, but also right before the live action adaptation of his work hits the big screen. So, Howard will not be pulled. 13) Great Expectations (Hulu) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited Series … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/21/23

Paramount Plus and i are about to butt heads. I found out that they finally uploaded audio description for Everything Everywhere All At Once, which is a Showtime title. They still have not uploaded audio description for actual Showtime series that have known audio description. Winter is coming, you Paramount bitches. You can bother to do the work to get audio description for an A24 title, but not one of your own shows? That makes no sense. 15) TransAtlantic (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited Series I was on the fence after the first episode, but the second episode … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/19/23

Disney Plus and hulu are dropping several shows from their services here in a few days, so if you hadn’t finished any of these shows: Willow, Big Shot, The mysterious Benedict Society, Turner and hooch, The World According To Jeff Goldblum, Maggie, Pistol, y The Last Man, Little Demon, Dollface, or any of the movies or specials disappearing with them, now would be the time to catch up. I would recommend a binge of Big Shot if you never got to see it. Easily the best show they are removing. 12) Extrapolations (Apple Plus) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/18/23

Netflix has attempted its first upfront presentation, and to celebrate, they brought what they assumed were good tidings. Ginny and Georgia got a two season renewal, because certainly the world needed more of that. And, Virgin River got an early Season 6 renewal before Season 5 premieres. Also, Apple Plus announced that the upcoming third season of physical will be its last. 10) American idol (ABC/Hulu) English Audio Description?: No Status: Renewed This Road To The Finale clip show was mostly a waste of time. It did feature some new footage, and checked in on a handful of earlier eliminations. But, … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/17/23

Well, ABC certainly had a big day. in general, all of Disney did. Disney Plus even made some big date announcements, putting Loki Season 2 in October and Echo in November. But, over at ABC, they have enough unscripted content to make the fall interesting. Not only is Dancing With The Stars back, but they’re changing the Bachelor format this year to feature The Golden Bachelor, for women of a certain age. Also, American Idol got that official renewal, as did The Connors, and ABC will be bringing back a lot of non-scripted hits like America’s Funniest Videos, Shark Tank, … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/16/23

Well, FOX is still holding out on some decisions but announced a writer’s proof schedule full of reality TV. They even revived Kitchen Nightmares. I believe ABC is the only network that hasn’t done an upfront yet, possibly also The CW. It’s hard to tell in this day and age when the Networks are feeling less energized and also avoiding writer’s strike blowback. 11) Tiny beautiful Things (Hulu) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited Series I think with each episode of Kathryn Hahn’s dark comedy I tend to dislike it more. Happy Mother’s Day to all those out there who need to hear that. No big news today. That’s it. It’s just Mother’s Day. 13) Family Matters (HBo MAX) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Ended Look at HBO getting that AD on Family Matters. It’s been a long time since I’ve watched this show, and I’m not sure I ever saw the pilot. Of course, Family Matters was one of those shows that changed so much as the show progressed. Laura has almost no screentime in the pilot, I forgot she had a younger sister. Steve Urkel doesn’t exist. This is … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/13/23

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: once and Always

Where I Watched It: Netflix English Audio Description?: Yes Written By: Andrew piper So I heard Netflix was working on some Power Ranger thing. I didn’t know what that meant, and I don’t know what to tell you. I feel like I fever dreamed this and it isn’t real. I think someone Micro dosed me and I imagined this. There is no grade for this film. Much like how there’s a multiverse we talk about in films, I believe this film comes from a world where the grading scale has been elevated to emojis. Nothing makes sense. up is down. … Continue reading Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: once and Always

Yesterday provided ample TV news. NBC announced their fall lineup, which included a Season 2 renewal for Lopez V Lopez, and has left its remaining sitcoms (American Auto, Young Rock, and Grand Crew) on the bubble. NBC also surprisingly revived Transplant with a 2 season order (since the series comes from Canada), and pushed LaBrea’s tiny third (and likely final) season to mid season. Meanwhile, The CW surprisingly rescued cancelled AMC drama 61st Street. I’m not sure why. I’m not sure anyone was asking for that. But this is the new CW, and by God, they will be irrelevant in … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/12/23

joining the ranks of cancelled series are The Winchesters (which is being shopped to other networks and streaming services) as well as Kung Fu. Basically, The CW no longer exists. The once groundbreaking network, that started as a combination of The WB and UPN, two networks that launched hits like Dawson’s Creek, Girlfriends, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Moesha, Gilmore Girls, Veronica Mars, Gossip Girl, The Vampire Diaries, Reba, and of course Supernatural has turned into a barren wasteland. 13) Celebrity Wheel Of Fortune (ABC/hulu) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Presumably Renewed I wanted to watch this weeks episode just because … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/11/23

FOX has given a second season to the comedy Animal Control. Also, Disney is planning on merging Hulu into Disney Plus by the end of the year, and is currently in negotiations to buy out Comcast on their remaining shares. So your kids can watch Encanto and American Horror Story in one place! I have been integrating more and more reruns into my Lineup, a trend I’m personally enjoying. I’d rather continue to expand this way than spend more time stuck in series I’m not enjoying. So, especially on this list, this will likely be the last time for some … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/10/23

Well, CBS picked up the dramas I predicted, Matlock and Elzabeth as well as the Wayans family sitcom. Also, The CW renewed Walker, but cancelled Walker independence. They are really falling apart. 9) 9) Up Here (Hulu) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Not Yet Renewed Episode 4 revolves around “keeping it casual”, and I guess the more i spend with these leads, the more I’m starting to care about them? but, like barely. Well, fans of SWAT have had a very confusing past couple of days. After cancelling the hit drama on Friday, and seeing a torrent of backlash for cancelling a show that has risen in ratings every season, CBS has reversed its decision and given SWATT a 7th season renewal. That renewal comes at the expense of Freshman drama East New York, which was looking good for renewal and instead got the boot. I did hear the major contention over ENY was streaming rights, as CBS wanted all seasons available on Paramount Plus, but they only have the rights to the … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/08/23

A couple more interesting WGA Strike tidbits. The Rings Of Power was told to continue filming without it’s showrunners (who are WGA members, and on strike). So if you were concerned about the quality last season, this could either be a good or bad thing. Probably bad though. And Evil, which was finishing filming on its fourth season, ended up wrapping filming early because the strike was too disruptive. I don’t know how you end early in a positive way. I would assume that means scenes are not being shot. I would think that affects the continuity of the show. … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/07/23

I celebrated Star Wars Day by not watching any Star Wars. Listen. i watched and reviewed all the titles last year before obi Wan dropped. I’m good to go for this year. Also, production on some shows continue to shut down due to the writers strike. The most recent shows affected are hacks, American Horror Story, and billions. 12) The power (Amazon) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Not yet Renewed Amazon’s drama, which I love the concept, but not the execution, continues to be kind of a mess.
