1) The Terminal List (Amazon)

I will say, they closed out the series in fine form. That final reveal, the final name on the list, so brutal. No spoilers here, but it was enough for this show, which rarely does top the list, to earn the spot. Full of action, and a really nice cat and mouse game between our favorite reporter and a cooperating Secretary of Defense really helped put this episode over the top. Nice way to close out the show.

2) Reservation Dogs (Hulu)

After Hulu finally uploaded the AD, I’ve been going back through season 1 with a completely different lens. In episode 7, the one with the content warning, there was a moment in the episode that earned that content warning that went completely over my head as the dialogue wasn’t spoken. you might be able to guess, based on how the episode is shaped, but the power behind that moment is lost for a blind audience without the AD. Well done.

3) Surface (Apple Plus)

After having a fallout with her therapist, and believing that the drugs were helping her, our lead character finds some hallucinogens that cause for a very interesting night. One thing we did learn, is that if one of them did push her off the boat, both her husband and best friend did NOT conspire together to do so. They might be guilty separately, and not want the other to know, but they did not do it together.

Episode Grade: A-

4) Celebrity Jeopardy (ABC/Hulu)

English Audio Description?: Yes

Having never watched an episode of Jeopardy with audio description before, it was nice to ahve a narrator whose sole purpose in life seemed to be to remind me of the scores, and who was in the lead. Super helpful. Otherwise, compared to what the real people get, or especially tournament players, this was akin to playing Teen Jeopardy. I answered like 80% of the questions correctly. It was nonsense. I should never get that high. Lots of softball questions.

5) The Resort (Peacock)

Balthazar really starts down a rabbit hole this episode. Of course, shit did get really weird there at the end, and now I have no idea what to think about this show. I feel like I just watched a caterpillar cocoon itself and come out a butterfly all in one episode. I’m so interested to see how they handle this now. I don’t want to spoil for anyone who hasn’t watched this yet, but Episode 5 is a big swing for the show.

6) The house Of Dragons (HBO/HBo MAX)

Yes, we knew a time jump was coming, and this wasn’t the first time jump. Part of me is sad that we lost young Reina because she was so terrific, and new Reina is just OK. But the show seems to be in a place where you very much feel like you missed something. Like, you forgot to read the first two books in the LOTR franchise and jumped right into Return Of The king. Characters have wildly different personalities, none more so than Damon… who might finally have a soul? But how did he get it? All of a sudden, he has a new wife, kids, and seems in a good place. WHAT HAPPENED? Meanwhile, characters pop up and disappear like they’ve always been a big part of the show,there are a ton of new kids, Vasarus isn’t dead, but also knows allicent is scheming and doesn’t do shit. Then, we have, as a cherry on top, a preteen masturbating while completely nude. No one needed that, and if they DID need that, those are people we don’t ever need to know. I’m concerned about the writer who felt that the world needed that scene. Who is he? Can we put them on a no-fly list? I don’t know what happened to a show that was basically killing it every week, but for some reason they rushed ahead too far like they’re afraid of being cancelled after one season. I suppose if you keep letting the writers of this episode work for the show, it’s quite possible you won’t be around as long as the flagship show.
